Great site, excellent welcome from helpful wardens

This is a site that we use often, sometimes as a location in itself, but also as a stopping off point between home in West Cornwall on our way along the South Coast. On this occasion we stopped twice, over night on the way out and way back home. The new wardens were cheerful, smiling and joking as they coped with the 1.00pm stream of arrivals and were fast tracking those who had paid in advance to reduce the size of the queue which can soon block the narrow road leading to the site, and dealing efficiently with those, like ourselves, who had opted to pay on arrival. We lost our grey water drain down pipe from our Camoer can as we left the site and did not realise until we arrived at the next site, so left a phone message asking if the wardens could keep an eye out for it. On our return visit we arrived in the pouring rain and the wardens were again very welcoming and helpful, we were soon checked in and on our pitch. Later when I enquired as to whether our waster pipe had been found, the wardens said they had looked around for it and kept their eyes open and one warden had discovered it lying on top of a waste bin and he had saved it for us - thank you so much. We will continue to use this lovely site and wish the new wardens every happiness and success.

Lovely site - shame about the welcome

We stayed over the Easter Weekend and was our first trip away this year so we were very excited, however everyone turned up at 1pm and the staff very miserable and kept moaning about this, we had vouchers so needed pay in the office, they continued to moan about this and kept on saying we should have paid in advance...not our problem your attitude ruined the welcome to the site, on a plus note the site is lovely, peaceful and very clean, lots to explore and although the local pub was fully booked we can highly recommend the Otter Inn in Weston about 10 minutes from site, fab food friendly staff and dogs welcome too, not sure we will be back this year as we were put off by the welcome

Putts Corner - Great for kiddies

We stayed over Easter 2023 from 6th - 13th April. The site was very quiet outside of the two bank holidays. Probably down to the weather. The grass pitches were still closed so pitched on HS near to the children's play park. This site is great for kiddies as they can play in the park, make dens in the "woods" and climb trees! With the grass pitches closed, this provided an area in front of the play park for the kids to have a kick around and play frisbee. Just perfect for proper old-fashioned fun & my kids loved it. Shower blocks immaculate. As were dishwashing & laundry areas. Good location to Devon attractions. Supermarkets nearby. Have booked again for June!

Immaculate and Friendly

The pitches are lovely and spacious as well as private and not stacked onto of each other. The toilets and showers are literally immaculate! Very friendly staff and a nice shop for essentials. Small play area for kids which could be slightly larger with a bit more for children to do, but overall a really lovely relaxing and welcoming place to be!

Memories of this site

Our stay at this site was of mixed feelings. On the one hand the site was to the very usual high standard that the Caravan and Motorhome Club provides. However, on the other hand we felt the managers could have been more helpful. On our way to the site I badly injured my right hand finger which necessitated a visit to a minor injuries unit at Honiton hospital. Thus, my wife telephoned the site to inform them that we would arrive late. Upon arrival the site manager did not seem to be aware of our situation and had booked us onto a service pitch rather than us selecting one to our taste. On another occasion my wife tried to visit the site shop at it's stated opening time only to be told rather brusquely by the manager that he was just about to have a meal!! Because of the surly manner of the site manager our overall memory of this site is tainted somewhat.

Huge pitches

Stayed for only 1 night but so impressed with site, huge pitches, everything so tidy garden wise, immaculate facilities and such friendly wardens. Pub was quite good too especially walking from the top of the site with no need to walk on the road. Will def be back for a longer stay.

Lovely site - But watch out for Noise and Wasps

We visited for a week over the August bank holiday. Putts Corner is a beautiful site. We have visited each year for the last 5 years or so. The wardens are friendly and efficient. Site is very tidy and shower blocks are spotless. On this trip unfortunately, the wasps were unbearable. Two of us were stung. We chose a grass pitch near the park and there must have been a nest in the trees. Not a fault of the caravan club, or the wardens, but very unpleasant. We also found the noise on site louder than usual too. Having 3 young kids, we are well used to noise!! However, regular aeroplane noise, dogs on site barking and road noise made the site seem noisy.

Fabulous stay

My family and dog stayed over the August bank holiday weekend. We had a great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were immaculate. Dog walk accessible from site through the woods, ideal for a leg stretch. Our daughter had a great weekend and didn’t want to go home, the little play park was a bonus. We also walked from the site to the local pub. Recommend the carvery. Took the dog with us too. My wife took the dog to a local nature reserve - Knapp Copse, only 5 minutes drive from the site but good for an off lead walk which our dog needs. Quite undulating though, so prepare for a bit of a work out. On the doorstep of Sidmouth & Seaton - great location. Hopefully we will be back to explore the area more!
