Short break

Stayed on the old part of site pitches very big.Everywhere was clean thought 2 hours for toilet cleaning was a bit long as its quite a walk to the other shower block.Did use my own shower once .Hardly saw the wardens but the couple who had bin duty everyday were pleasant. No trouble with dogs in fact all the dogs I saw were on leads

Excellent Site

Very well run , clean and tidy site. Stayed here a few times and always everywhere is spotless.  I agree with bessie54's comments I am also fed up with dog owners (with or without dogs on leads) letting them roam on to your pitch and doing their business, not nice when you are having your meal, and isn't it also illegal not too pick it up?

Excellent site

Stayed for two nights. Well kept site and staff very helpful. Not crazy about the fencing around toilet block - meant a long walk to the ladies! Good for biking - excellent 22 mile ride from the site on mainly cycle paths/quiet lanes - map downloadable from this website. Missed the Hayloft café though - for future riders it is in the Farm shop! Short walk to the lake/sand dunes/Morrisons - overall a very pleasant stay.

Great site

We have stayed on this site a few times and always been happy with the facilities and cleanliness of the site .we have a dog and do keep it on a lead at all times while on site but I must say their is some owners that just can't be bothered also let their dogs run free over pitches and foul but ether won't or can't be bothered to pick it up just think if everyone did this. Apart from this we had an excellent stay and will go back

Do not arrive before 12.00!!!

This is a lovely site the new area is well spaced out and toilets are up to the 5 star rating. We were close to the new toilet block which was fine except the door on the gents banged every time someone went in or out. The only thing we did notice was that members did not take any notice of the 12.00 arrival time and at 11.15 when we were walking into town one day there were 25 units waiting outside on the road to get onto site. This caused a few problems for units leaving as in one place the tree/bushes caused damage to a caravan leaving the site, we decide to leave early so to miss the problem. Also there are cars packed along this road so passing maybe impossible. (spoke to warden who said it happens quite alot). Great site to visit Liverpool and other surrounding towns, Southport has a great shopping center with allsorts of shops that sell different things not like most seaside town where the same thing is available in every shop. Can I also remind members that dogs should be on a lead on site, and it should be no longer than 2 metres. There were several dogs on those long trainer leads and many with no lead at all , there are several areas on this site left wild and uncut these are for ground living wild life not for your dogs to have free roam and you not to clean up after them.

our recent visit

We had a lovely stay again at this site But booked a serviced pitch this time and ours was one f a few overlooking the toilet/shower block which was quite noisy and not at all private Shame as service pitches are a real convenience but would seriously not bother if you want peace and quiet Overheard the wardens cleaning the toilets be quite sharp with a few caravaners little surprised re this But would definatly return to this site

7 days of sunshine and fun

The site was perfect for us but would have been great to have been on a nearer pitch to our friends who we came away with us especially when my dog escaped from the caravan window (He would have gone straight to them as he knows them) but luckley he was found by the wardens who I am very grateful to. The walk into Southport Town centre is about a 15 min walk but is very flat plenty to do for one and all. There two lovely parks a funfair for the kids , splash world, boating lakes etc. Plenty of shopping for the ladies and perhaps the men and plenty of places to eat and drink The site is kept very clean and tidy and so are the facilities, we were lucky we had 7 days of sunshine so that made a load of difference to us first class. Will defo be returning again.

The best site in this area

I have been on all parts of this site, enjoy.  Try the pub the Fishermans rest 5 min walk away and the Chinese resteraunt which is next to the site. Morrisons 10min walk. Park and ride is 1 min drive and then the bus will take you into town for £1.50 return for the car full of you.

Best caravan site we have stayed on

We have stayed on this site twice now, it's certainly our favourite. The toilets and showers are immaculate, we have never seen facilities so clean. It's a big credit to the wardens, who work hard to keep this site so perfect. Thank you one and all.

September 2015stay

This was a very clean and well run site although quite a walk to service points.do not turn up early as people are still leaving up to 12am and they will not let you in until after 12am.the new section is very open and needs to mature.you could walk into town within 10 mins.
