A great location to access Southport. Southport is great for eating out and nightlife. With gates directly into Victoria Park, it’s a lovely walk through to town. Morrison’s (10 mins away) is nearby, and on the way into Southport. Birkdale is about 20 mins walk and has lots to offer for a village. Southport is easily accessible from here by foot or train. There are Sandhills on the opposite side of access road for dog walks and a longer track to Ainsdale, Freshfield and Formby can be picked up from Weld Road. Catch the train back to Southport. Victoria Park often has limited access due to private events being held. In winter the walk into town is unlit and a good torch advisable. We have stayed on various areas of the site at different times of the year. The facilities have been excellent and up to club standards. However, when there in November, the new, lower field was flooded and many pitches unusable. If you want a club site with easy access to all amenities, this one is perfect.
