Good for families

Lovely facilities, but no WiFi , expensive

This was our first visit since this site has been refurbished. The new toilet blocks are very well done, and the pitches are the usual quality for a CMHC site . My concerns are around the lack of WiFi and the pricing structure. For a site which has undergone expensive refurbishment I find it bizarre that my yearly WiFi didn’t work here, not impressed. The price for this site appears higher than other sites at this time of year, The cheapest rate is from £23.10 ..... I had stayed at 4 ites in the previous week ranging from £17 at Castleton, £18 at Alderstead Heath, £21 at Chapel Lane, £18 at Ayr. Seems the newly refurbished site is going to cost us “members”. Overpriced, and no WiFi...poor....Don’t I think I’ll be going again.

Wasn’t the previous week in a different pricing band?

Inevitably prices at TH will have increased - look at all the new goodies. Of course the members have to pay for that. Who else is going to? It sounds good value to me.

Wifi is down to Air Angel and a separate issue.

This is the site we go to more than any other, as it's only an hour and a half from home. Have always loved it and with new facilities no doubt it will be very good. However it is expensive. The views of Blencathra are tremendous and worth paying a little extra for, but you don't have the view at all if you opt for a serviced pitch. We're amazed that they haven't added wifi to the site. It's a long way to travel for newspapers. We'll definitely still use it out of school holidays when it is most expensive.
