Great Site...Will Be Back

We stayed here on a 3 day...Monday to Wednesday and it is an easy to find site and of course close to the beach. We were offered a beach side pitch but we opted to stay on the inland side of the site as a preference to allow others on longer stays to go to the beach side. The site is well set out and appointed, wardens couldn't be better....Kessingland is one of those small seaside places with few facilities so if you have a preference for foods bring them in or Lowestoft is just up the road. Easy drive to Southwold and I was thinking while I was there....wouldn't it be great for the Caravan Club to purchase and run....the ever so expensive and run down council owned camping site in the town..... We will be back ....

Great Stay

Great stay at Kessingland. Arrived in plenty of time wardens very helpful. We chose a pitch on the beach front on the second row very nice pitch but too near the road very noisy traffic most of the day next time we will choose front row near beach it appears a lot quieter or perhaps a pitch on the main site well away from the road. Lovely walks for the dog along beach. Had a few drinks at the local pub which is dog friendly also during our stay they had a beer festival with live bands. Lovely fish & chips from van on a Friday at the site. In all we had a great 3 days and will return before the end of the year.

Tradditional seaside magic!

The site is located in Kessingland and you drive to the end of the beach road and realise you keep going and easy access when you turn corner !!! The site is great with good choice of hard standing or grass pitches! Staff even had model to show you how to set up to follow site ethos. The site has excellent toilet shower facilities ! Great! and clean! The site is next to pub and restaurant 30 seconds! and beach are that is dog friendly and substantial! great to have dog freedom! Cannot fault wish we stayed for week! Guy on maintenance / bin work very friendly and really made a difference! Down to earth people and a real sense of England!!! All the Caravan Club extras with a real sense of being at childhood seaside etc! Windy , and the beach pitches located opposite on road to site? but no need because so close, they not allowed awnings etc. The pitches are huge and plenty of choice! Easy access and set up! We did not want to go home! everyone we met friendly and nice ! cant wait to book for a week next year! Mick and Tina! 2 X Dogs and 2nd Caravan site trip! Loved it! Off to Woolacombe, Devon , 27th August Caravan Club Site. Already packed the wine! The site was great! Definitely go back during summer 2016 to appreciate Norfolk / Suffolk coast. See you there!!!!

Short August break

This was our fifth time back at this site and it didn't disappoint. Great location, great team of wardens and site is generally maintained to a high standard. Paella night at Waterfront is not to be missed and for dog owners there are lots of really good walks in and around the area.

Kessingland Kool

Our first visit to this site. As with all CC sites the facilities are first class. The wardens very friendly and helpful. With Lowestoft and specially Southwold within a short drive, both with great beaches etc., makes a good family site location. The road through the village can be a little tight at times but patience is needed! The local pub, Sailors Home has some good points, the good local beer, good food, friendly staff and best of all a short walk (50yds) from the site entrance!!!

Suffolk break

The site is not as well kept as some cc sites we have visited but having said that it's a nice clean site with a nice welcoming atmosphere . The hard standing pitches need a good weed as do the through grass paths to main toilet block which have nettles across. We liked the planting but it needs a bit of weeding. The internet connection is poor value as it doesn't work very well. The main toilet block shuts too early at 9.45am as the other block is too small when site is full . The site is mowed regularly and the grass pitches are lovely with plenty of space around them. The staff are helpful and allow you to enjoy your holiday without too much interference. Unfortunately a caravan with two huge dogs pitched near us and the dogs barked a lot every time anyone walked past! The guy also allowed them to wee on the grass and trees around the pitch. This is not a critiscm of the camp wardens they wouldn't have known. You have to be careful when leaving the site as the road is quite busy. There is a good pub next door selling food and a lovely little cafe in the village a ten min walk from site. The beach is reached by walking over a pebble foreshore and there is very little sand but still nice to walk along. The village is pleasant a fish chip shop, a small supermarket and a pizza takeaway are ten mins away in Kessingland village. It's a good area to explore and a nice site to stay on.

spotty dog

We stayed here last week and thought it was a great site, close to lots of different places to visit. The pitches were a good size and showers and toilets were spotless. My only comment would be that the small play area was amongst the pitches and it was a bit noisey when the children were shrieking with excitement.  It maybe would have been better to have the play park where the dog walk is as a few people were complaining about the noise but my view was that it was the kids holiday as well. Congratulations on a fab site. We will definitely be back

Good for couples

First time on this site, but stayed on static site 14 years ago. Perfect location and something for everyone. Really friendly wardens, nothing too much trouble. One tiny nit pick - noisy pigeons in morning!

Went back

Very good location we went back twice in as many months, you must try the Sailors home on Thursday night with live music and really good food. We pitched on the beach site the second time and the view was stunning . The toilets and showers were near and kept really clean by the friendly and helpful staff. Lots of sites to visit in the area lovely sandy beaches and wild life in the area. must go back again.

Lovely spot!

We have returned for our 4th visit to the beach front site. There is something rare and special about this location! We walk our dog and take in the natural beauty mix of grassland/and sea view.quiet in off peak times, peaceful some will say,but with a beautiful beach in south beach and southwold just down the road, there is much to do and experience. Also the Waterfront resteraunt is a must to visit, and the sailors home pub has good food and entertainment with a dog friendly attitude. We will definitely return yet again!
