Nice to be Back but,

Great to have our favourite site up and running again. We store our van here and love our stays even in the winter. Its disappointing to be able to arrange arrival up to 7pm but be told we cannot get in storage after 6pm. Do we stop visiting for winter or have to move storage. Don't really want to do either

Disappointment

So looked forward to going to our local site, first opportunity we had since it reopened. What a disappointment in the fact that they are still having problems with the heating and shower block, no hot water in the privacy cubicles but plenty in the hand washing basins, the shower block was very cool, should have been sorted by now.

Great site at a lovely location

Our 1st visit to this site and we will certainly be back. Easy site to get to straight off A66. We had 2 lovely walks, one up the river to Stockton and one down to Newport bridge again down th river and past the Portrack Marshes. Very clean shower and toilet block. All wardens very friendly. We look forward to our next visit.

My Favourite Site

As mentioned previously, there is so much at hand for you to do and visit. This is a great location. The staff were fantastic and clearly work hard to keep things maintained, clean and tidy. I understand that the site recently had some improvements carried out causing the site to be closed last summer. Sadly, I consider that the hardstandings were poorly laid. I carry every type of tent peg to cope with any surface including screw in pegs. None of them would fix securely into the ground. Thankfully the weather was calm with no wind otherwise we would certainly have had difficulties with the full awning we had erected. Having said that this will not dissuade me from returning but probably without the awning. This is my third visit to this site and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one.

Central location

Whitewater course very nice and very clean, noticed there were quite a lot waste bins around which kept area tidy, caravan site was excellent, toilet block pristine, wardens helpful, lovely walks, If i was to comment on one thing it would be the steady 'hum' of traffic from the A19 flyover in the distance early mornings but will certainly return. beef eater pub next to site.

Good location but turn the heating up please!

With Stockton and Middlesborough close by this is a good location to visit. Revamped Stockton is very nice indeed these days and so is Middlesborough. Free parking at most car parks for 2 hours and cheap as chips after that for longer stayers. The site itself is next to the Tees Barrage which is great to walk to especially at weekends when those with skill and determination canoe through the rapids. Watch out for the seals in the Tees - they come to feed on the salmon travelling upstream.  We found the site itself was very nicely set out with lots of spacing between each pitch. I'm not sure how the site will fair in the winter as I can tell you that mid October the heating in the toilet blocks was turned down so low it was really cold (as opposed to the reception area where it was red hot). The shower and water pressure to the taps appeared to be turned down as well - goodness knows why. Saving cost or saving the planet I'm not sure but why have such lovely facilities if all you want to do after a poor shower is get out of the building and back to the caravan to warm up. Such a shame really - I hope you do better when you visit. There are cycle paths around the site which attracted noisy motorcyclists roaring around late at night but certainly not continually by the way. All that being said - would I go again? Most certainly.

Great as ever

Whitewater park is always a great place to stay and recent upgrade with more hard standings and a lot of work done to improve the site have made it even better. No wonder there are so many happy weekenders meeting up with groups of friends to chill out.

Great site

We have recently stayed here to find a good upgraded site. Good size pitches and new roadways. Showers very clean but building cold. Wardens very approachable. Good lighting on site.

A good urban site

We had three nights here on our way home from a holiday further afield.  It's a lovely site with spacious pitches and great newly refurbished facilities.  Very welcoming wardens who obviously keep the site beautifully maintained.  The location is great for both shopping and walking - the riverside regeneration must be one of the best schemes in the country.  Great as well to watch the Whitewater course in action - not to mention the seals feeding at the barrage.  Throughly recommend this site.
