Return to site and refurbishment thoughts.....

Welcome: Wardens pleasant, usually found to be very busy around the site keeping site spruced and checking facilities and ironing out teething problems. Facilities: as expected, new therefore in pristine condition and normal cleaning routines applied with facilities closed for one hour every moring around 11am. Arrival and Departure: usual problems with early arrivals lining up well before the appropriate and clearly indicated arrival times. Why do people not read the rules... Dogs: usual issues of owners allowing their pooches to urinate anywhere and everywhere including the gates and railings by the childrens playareas and other folks pitches. WHY???. Allowing dogs to bark at people walking or sitting outside their outfits. WHY??? Location: site in good position for variety of cycle routes. Plenty of activities to take part in or observe at the White water park 2 minutes walk outside the clubsite gates. Beefeater close by for a meal with friends and family if required. Public Transport: Information located within information hut useless as provision of bus timetables dated 2012, 2014 and 2015. We used the internet to check available services and there is an excellent variety of services by Arriva and Stagecoach from Middlesborough and Stockton on Tees. There are also services from the stop opposite asda on the main road to Middlesbro'  and from the duel carriageway via pedestrian footpath if wanting to visit Hartlepool or further afield. Services also run up to Durham and Newcastle if you fancy a longer day out using a savercard or bus pass. Other stuff: upgrades are good, visit and see for yourselves. The club have tried to put in a variety of extras at this site and should be commended for it. Please can we see these implemented at other sites where appropriate. We were surprised and pleased with the changes.

Refurbished !

Yes everything has been refurbished/replaced to a good standard. However, pitchers are now approximately 90% hard standing leaving only soft standing (which I prefer) at the side of the site which suffers most from road noise from the busy A19. Would it not have been better to mix the soft/grass standing in with the hard standing pitches? then everyone would be happy. Also was it really necessary to replace the entire tarmac road surfaces??? At what cost? I think members should have a say in upgrades or at least given the opportunity to make suggestions.

Its all brand new

Very impressive changes to site. Lots of hard standings, new toilets, showers etc. Excellent location. Lovely wardens. The slight downside is there seem to be lots of children on this site, thats if you are looking for a peaceful stay.

Manners

A last minute meet up with friends.  Site looks lovely  However the manners of 2nd wardens left a lot to be desired, Both he and she were separately abrupt and curt with us on the Sunday. Manners cost nothing.

Refurb works

Clean and tidy site, still some snagging with gents loos but overall good level. We especially liked the wide waste drainage channel for the grey water - easy to use and spotlessly clean.

August Bank Holiday 2016

Stayed over the Bank Holiday weekend and whilst the refurbishment is excellent our enjoyment was spoiled by the number of children racing around on bikes, scooters and segways, shouting and screaming even at 10.00pm, not what we expect from a caravan club site.

August bank holiday weekend 2016

Nice to see this site open again, we have just had a lovely August bank holiday weekend, on our arrival we got a very good welcome from the staff, the facilities and toilets very clean, the wardens can be seen all day long working on the caravan park, and always have time to speck, it’s a great family area, you can have a nice walk round Tees Barrage White Water Course, and at the gate of the caravan park The Talpore Beefeater pub to get a nice meal, this is a great all round site
