A site with a wonderful location

The site is in a beautiful location with well spaced level pitches. The facilities are clean and the staff on site could not have been more helpful. We will be back if we are in that part of the country!

No on site shop this year!

First of all, the site Wardens as always were very helpful and friendly despite having to work in atrocious weather! Now for the bad part. There is no longer any shop on site for any essential supplies whatsoever. This is nothing to do with the Wardens, but a stupid decision by higher management. If you forget anything now it’s a tri into Heswall or Irby. Not ideal if you’re in a Motorhomes and just itched up to realise you forgot teabags! This seems to be such a silly decision that’s taken away facilities for us , the members. No more ice creams or cold drinks on the way back in after a walk in the sun/warmer weather. I’m still waiting for a reply to an email to head office on this subject 5 days later. But, the site itself is well worth visiting and excellent for us that have dogs with them.

Geocaching Trip

Had three nights at this site on the Wirral to go out Geocaching on our bikes. The site is very well run by top class wardens so cheers guy's great job. Only negative is the price of £31 for 2 people with a motorhome in October for me is way over the top you can see why we get over into Europe as much as we can as price on sites as good as here would be far lower especially at this time of year.

Esme's Merseyside Visit

We visited this site 14 June 2022 for 2 nights. We were greated by the ever so friendly and helpful Donna who advised on which slots were available. Great idea, pity it isn't at all sites. This site is a little gem, quiet, nature all around and near the Wirral. Situated near to a public footpath which takes you to the beach front in less than 15mins and about and hr to West Kirby when walking. Then train to Liverpool which at the time was £11.20 return for 2. This is a friendly well maintained site with fantastic views. Best of all are the staff, although we only met and dealt with Phil and Donna who are real champions. Nothing is too much trouble both are very knowledgeable. Alway seen around the site even after they have finished. Exceptional, visiting is a must if you haven't already.

Location, location, location

This site is ideally located in pleasant countryside overlooking the Dee Estuary but within an hour's bus journey of Liverpool and adjacent to an excellent cycle and walking path, a sailing club and a Country Park. The shower and toilet facilities although not new were extremely well maintained (any untidiness being entirely down to the users). All the wardens were friendly and obliging, and we took up the offer in the fantastic Information Hut of staying an extra night. Donna did the admin there and then without any complaint, She and Phil and their colleagues were splendid ambassadors for the CAMC. We did not experience any "pitch envy" because all plots whether overlooking the estuary or not had their own good points.

50/50 good and bad

I have been touring for over 25 years now and visited some lovely places . Wirral countrt park is a great place to vist for families and thies who like to walk or cycle in the local parks . The site is easy to get to and looks nice . Like most sites not all pitches are good and haveing the right pitch makes your break. Very disappointed to see you only have one toilet waste on site for 90 plus units ,so if your at the bottom of the site its a treck back up the site. Iv see other cc sites with at least 4 disposal places. . ( needs some investment on this site . I found the road that leads to the boating club located at the bottom of the site to very noisy with traffic at times but not alot you can do about that . Friday night was so disorganised with vans coming in not knowing where they are going and what pitches are free. 4 caravans and motorhomes was frantically going up and down looking for a pitch and some just struggling to turn around. Maybe a better record of allocated pitches is needed and guests told what is available and shown where they are. With more and more private sites coming up they seem to have got the standards high and catered for .the organisation / flow is right from checking in to your experience staying with them . I'm happy to pay that little extra for this . Saying that pre booking my stay this time long time ago I was shocked to be charged more from the original price on my email due to electric going up . This should of been honoured really. All in all . Nice site. Nice area and friendly warders . Come on cc !! Start looking at being the hospitality leader in the leisure sector.

Every Club Site should have a Phil!

We had just arrived at this beautiful site with its stands of pine trees and coastal views when my husband colllapsed at a pub a few miles away. He was taken to hospital and the Manager there kindly brought me and our new rescue dog back to the Site. We had to leave the car with them as I am blind and so cannot drive any more. She alerted the Site office that I was on my own, and Phil and Donna immediately came to see if I needed anything. Happily my husband was returned to me at 0130 hours the next morning and, when he went to enquire about local taxi services, Phil offered to drive him across to pick up our car. He refused any payment and told us it 'was all part of the service'. We saw him several times after that, always working hard around the site which is kept extremely clean. When we were hitching up to leave we had an electrics problem, sorted quickly and cheerfully by Phil. He must have been glad to see the back of us, but instead he waved us off telling us to come back soon as they were always pleased to see new clients. What a star!

Great Site for Biking and Walking.

First up don't think getting there early will give you a chance of a pitch with a view across the estuary. As mentioned by other reviews, as soon as one on the estuary pitches becomes vacant someone will move from another pitch into the vacant pitch. I saw it happen twice in the 5 days I was there. I don't know if there is any answer to this practice. Apart from that the site is well run with friendly wardens who keep the site in a good condition. The site is great for cycling as there is a disused railway track just ouside the site. The wife and myself cycled to West Kirby, Neston and Hoylake on different days. These cycle tracks can also be walked but it must be slightly annoying for walkers to move for cyclists frequently. A good walk to be had is along the beach as far as the restaurant Sheldrakes and back. About 4 miles in total. As stated by others only one shower and toilet block. This block also has the toilet emptying compartment. The showers were hot and adequate but out of action for a couple of days whilst brand new boilers were fitted. No geat problem. All in all the site is well positioned and worth a visit.
