From Christchurch to Te Anau, Queenstown to Picton and then on through Wellington to Lake Taupo and the Bay of Plenty, there is so much to discover in New Zealand with the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s 36-day tour. Perfect for touring the open road, the itinerary for the Club’s New Zealand Discovery tour is packed with scenic routes, from snow-capped mountains and dormant volcanoes to stunning coastlines and national parks. The diversity of the country means with each short journey, tourers will arrive at a new and very different destination.
The 36-day escorted tour includes return flights, airport transfers, Maui motorhome hire with insurance and unlimited mileage, two nights in 4* hotels in both Christchurch and Auckland either side of the tour, 28 nights pre-booked campsites in sought after areas, Interislander ferry crossing, Milford Sound nature cruise, a traditional Maori Hãngĩ feast, Skyline Gondola in Queenstown, and a welcome and farewell dinner.

Tourers begin their trip setting off to Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook National Park.The first ten days take in the Waitaki Valley to Dunedin where they can discover the diverse wildlife of the Otago Peninsula, before arriving at Te Anau, the gateway to the Fiordland National Park.
The next leg of the journey takes in Queenstown and the rugged West Coast. Onto the Abel Tasman National Park, this can be explored by foot, kayak or a leisurely boat cruise, before discovering the Marlborough wine region and taking a ferry to the North Island to the capital city, Wellington.
Other tour highlights include an adventure exploring the rural heartland of Wairarapa region, volcanic and geothermal wonders of Rotorua and a visit to the Coromandel Peninsula and Hot Water Beach.
Late availability is also available on the Club’s Cape Town and the Garden Route tour, a 21 day trip of the southern tip of Africa enabling tourers to take in picturesque views from the majesty of Table Mountain to the natural scenery along South Africa’s famous Garden Route, with prices starting from £4,599 per person. The South African tour departs on the 3rd November 2023; complimentary UK airport passes are also available if tourers book before the 31st July 2023.*
Tour highlights include an elephant interaction experience, a visit to Camdeboo National Park, a half-day guided safari in Addo Elephant park, wine tasting in Stellenbosch and an ultimate road trip along the famous Garden Route that takes in the Botanical Gardens, culinary hotspot of the town Knysna and sandy coves of Plettenberg Bay.
The trips are escorted by local tour guides who have in-depth knowledge of the countries. They travel the same itineraries as tourers and are on hand every morning and evening to give advice on the day ahead, including places to go and things to see. They are also available should tourers need medical advice on their tours.
