Why stay here ...
Set on the Eastern shore of the Jutland pensiular, the First Camp Ajstrup Strand campsite has something for campers of all ages. It is located just 16kms from the vibrant city centre of Aarhus.
You can combine busy city life with the beautiful sandy beach and refreshing dips in the sea accessed directly from the campsite. Plenty of fun activities on site include the indoor pool and jacuzzi and a great new playground for the kids.
Days out include the old town in Aarhus with its cathedral and the beautiful 14th century restored frescoes, an open area museum with centuries-old timbered houses, as well as the underground Viking museum. From Aarhus you can take the ferry over to Jutland north of Copenhagen and save the drive enjoying the seaviews instead.
Go to the top of the tallest building in Denmark "The Lighthouse" and enjoy the panoramic views of the town and the coastline or enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants at the vibrant marina.
In between the city and the campsite you will drive through the beautiful green Marseliborg deer park forest surrounding the Royal Marsleisborg Castle with it's stunning rose gardens which is open to the public unless the Royal family are staying. Just nearby on the coast is "The Infinite Bridge" - created by architects, this wooden pathway structure formed in a circle has superb views of the Ballehage beach and out to sea as it spans out over the surf looking into Aarhus bay (April to October) with the forest behind it.
