Experience the world renowned and truly spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, taking in the sights and sounds of the military pagentry, dancers and musicians including the distinctive sound of the ‘massed pipes and drums’.

Come and explore this fabulous city and take a glimpse into its fascinating past with a guided tour of the Old Town, led by a Blue Badge accredited tour guide. Being an old city, located on a hill, exploring Edinburgh involves plenty of walking, including steps and uneven surfaces but the reward is worth it as you make your way up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle, the city’s dominant feature, sitting high above the city on Castle Rock.

As well as the Military Tattoo, the city also hosts the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe Festival in August so there is lots to see and do, as you mix with visitors from around the world.

End your break on a high with a pre-show dinner before going to the world-famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Enjoy the impressive performances from hundreds of military pipers and drummers, Highland dancers and daring display teams before the grand finale fireworks display which lights up the castle!
