Why stay here ...

Located opposite a pebble beach and within walking distance of St Pol, this site is often used for stopovers when travelling to and from Roscoff, but offers a lot for those wishing to stay longer. Remaining fairly quiet even at peak times, it has a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff who will ensure your stay is comfortable.

Facilities are limited as the site is small, but there’s a good pool and some organised entertainment in high season. There is a shuttle bus to St Pol, in the high season, where you can find shops, restaurants and a bustling weekly market to supplement the basic shop and takeaway food available onsite.

Roscoff is only 15 minutes’ drive from the site and has a lovely historic centre. A further 15 minutes by boat will take visitors to the Île de Batz with its exotic gardens and lighthouse, which rewards those who climb its 198 steps with gorgeous views along the coastline.

Lovely site!

De Trologot
Lovely site, convenient for Roscoff but worthy of a longer stay. Great atmosphere on site with reasonably priced restaurant and bar. Swimming pool too! Beach opposite with St. Pol de Leon within walking distance. Will keep visiting...

Very pleasant site in lovely location but advisable to check booking directly in advance

De Trologot
We stayed here straight off the Roscoff ferry for a short 2 night break for the 1st leg of our Brittany tour and found the site to be very pleasant. However, as we were arriving soon after 7pm I thought it best to email in advance to check if reception would be open. We received a short email back in French advising of the pitch number which was situated at the very entrance to the right but before the actual barrier itself which leads into the actual site (a small field of around 5/6 pitches with EHU but no water, seemingly solely for those staying 1 or 2 nights). We didn’t mind this at all as this part actually overlooks the beach opposite the road and had an open feel. The only downside was that the owner omitted to tell us the barrier code where you could access the water taps/Motorhome service point and reception was closed so we had to spend the 1st night with very little water (hence the 4 stars). (We had to walk back and forth with a few buckets to fill up with water as ours has an inbuilt water tank - probably no problem though if you are in a caravan or have a water roller). So our advice is if you are intending on arriving after 6pm, email the site direct to get your pitch number AND the barrier code if possible as the reception may be closed. That said the site was much better than we expected with a decent sized, lovely warm, outside pool. There is a snack restaurant/bar open in the evening which provides a variety of decent warm food and they do also have entertainment on some nights. When we were there we had a live British/French cover band playing on the Saturday night called The Piranha Brothers which were brilliant and packed out the bar and really got the crowd going! The showers and toilets are plentiful, clean and functional (although it is advisable to bring your own toilet paper as although it is provided outside the toilets themselves, quite often the dispensers don’t work properly). The staff work tirelessly especially the owners as this is a busy, family run site. It is in a lovely location in between 2 pretty beaches with a few beach side bars/restaurants only a few minutes walk away as you turn right out of the site. Would definitely recommend staying here especially if you are straight off the Roscoff ferry as it is only around 4mile drive with nice accessible walks and cycle rides and is a great way to start your holiday!

Awful experience

De Trologot
We booked this site due to ease of access from Brittany ferries but wouldn’t stay here ever again! We had confirmation of our payment to Caravan club in hand which we presented at reception on arrival, my husband was told that the three nights we had paid for was in fact two nights but the owner grudgingly accepted this whilst complaining we had arrived too early from the ferry. On the third night of our three night stay we were greeted at the barrier by madame in full throttle informing us that we should have left. Fortunately I am bilingual and I was able to tell her, and show her that I had a receipt from the Caravan club showing the amount that we had paid in full. She did not want to accept that any issues she was complaining about were anything but their fault and there was no apology. I told her that we were going to return to our pitch which we did only to find a French camper van parked adjacent with our pitch and a gentleman unloading his kit. Madame followed us to our pitch and appeared to try and smooth things over with the French party by trying to imply that this was a fault of ours. It appears that there had been some overbooking and the campervan was also booked in on our pitch so that he could rejoin his mates and had also paid up front. It was an entirely unpleasant episode and we are not in the first flush of youth! We had also just returned to caravanning after a break of six years so the whole thing was incredibly stressful. I contacted the Caravan club and their response was very weak, accepting that the agent in France said that the site was a little overwhelmed by the number of bookings and were having problems managing them. Ultimately this is a campsite whose job it is to manage bookings yet which admits to having difficulties in managing bookings. For those who have a good stay here, great but at a functional and customer service level this should no longer be a recommended caravan club site and should be only used if you really have to and with caution. In addition in high season the pitches are cramped, manoeuvring is difficult, facilities are not particularly clean and there is a very limited service on offer and is noisy at night. There is however a nice beach opposite the site but frankly that didn’t compensate for the unpleasantness of our experience. There are better sites.

Worth a visit

De Trologot
When we'd booked in we were shown to our pitch by the owner/manager who was really friendly. The pitches are a good size and well kept. The toilets very clean but didn't have seats & you must remember to take toilet paper from the dispenser before you go into a cubicle. The location of the site is lovely. Just across the road from the sea. OK it's not a great beach, but just 5 minutes walk away there's a lovely sandy beach. Area lovely, especially enjoyed visiting Roscoff.

Lovely site, friendly owners

De Trologot
This was the 2nd of 3 sites, booked through the Caravan Club, that we stayed on during our holiday and our favourite one. When we'd booked in we were shown to our pitch by the owner. All throughout our stay he and his wife were very friendly, and cheery. The pitches are a good size and well kept. The site has a barrier entry/exit making it feel very secure, although we wouldn't have felt unsafe if it wasn't there. The only reason 'facilities' didn't get 5* was that you must remember to take toilet paper from the dispenser before you go into a cubicle. That wouldn't have been a problem if the dispenser in the ladies toilet worked properly. If that's the case just remember to take your own paper! The location of the site is lovely. Just across the road from the sea. OK it's not a great beach, but just 5 minutes walk away there's a lovely sandy beach. We booked this site to explore this coast, having never visited before. There are lots of lovely walks and we'd definitely return to De Trologot if we wanted to stay in this area again.
