Why stay here ...
This rustic, lakeside site is set in an ancient forest to the south west of Paris. As with many Huttopia sites, it has been designed to adapt to the surrounding environment, and pitches are set among trees and in clearings meaning there’s plenty of shade.
The site is eco-conscious and features a natural swimming pool with water that is filtered by reeds. There’s also a play area and organised family activities in the summer months, and guests can fish in the lake.
The forest location is ideal for walks and bike rides, while the town of Rambouillet with its 14th-century château and quirky toy train museum merits a visit. The cathedral at Chartres has some exquisite stained-glass windows and a celebrated labyrinth walk set into the floor, and in the opposite direction is the opulent Palace of Versailles and its extensive gardens.
