Why stay here ...

A superbly run site with its own small lake, Lech is owned by Gabi Ryssel and her family who go above and beyond to meet the needs of guests. The site itself is modern and pristinely kept, with grass and gravel pitches shaded by tall pines and spotless facilities. Guests can take advantage of the free surfboards and boats and enjoy the private swimming lake and there is a restaurant within walking distance in the nearby viillage.

There’s plenty to do in the local area, with the ancient city of Augsburg – the largest on the Romantic Road – located just 5km away. Children will enjoy a visit to Legoland, while the art galleries and museums of Munich can be reached in just 30min to an hour.

Fifth stop on way to Austria

Lech Camping
Stopped here for 4 nights after leaving Kleinenzhof. Great location to do Romantic Road. Access via manually operated barrier. Cars had to park in car park a short walk away: owners had replaced a lot of roadway gravel due to recent rain/floods so not sure if this was a temporary measure. Toilets/showers of very good quality. Site has a lake which is good for kids but bad for mozzies who helped themselves very frequently. Be aware site is next to a main road which was quite noisy when we first got there although it did quieten down in the evening/night. Also, there is an airport very close, which again wasn't noisy in the evening/nightime. One point to note is the barrier is locked (with a padlock) during the 2-hour lunch and after 10pm so you need to leave your car in the car park by the offices if you arrive/depart during these times. Would recommend.

Expensive site

Lech Camping
Easy access to site is one of the main reasons we returned for a one night stopover on way to Austria. Facilities are spotless and with the bus just by the entrance ideal for motorhomers wanting to visit Augsburg. My only gripe is that despite this being a very expensive site I had to pay extra for my small trailer which I tow behind my 6m Campervan. During three years of touring all over Europe never been charged before. Both units fitted onto the allotted pitch, whilst some caravanners had to park their cars on the car park.

Good Stopover

Lech Camping
Stayed here for two nights on way to Austria, very clean - can't fault that. Very quiet - had a pitch next to lake, although it is a pond really - full of frogs which were very noisy at night! Lots of people in the water on paddleboards and swimming - we didn't fancy it, may have been the weather as it was exceptionally hot but water was murky and lots of reeds. Took a bus into the town on Sunday - mistake as nothing is open! Should have been informed by staff when we asked for the bus directions etc that nothing would be open but hey ho you live and learn - went to the puppet museum which was interesting. Got a taxi back as the only bus back was at 17.15 All in all a lovely site and would recommend if passing through

First Visit

Lech Camping
We booked 4 nights on a lakeside pitch which was fully serviced and we were so surprised to see the size of the pitch. We actually booked this site independently as we liked the idea of being lakeside. Being by the lake meant that there was a lovely breeze which was much appreciated as it was hot during our time there. As has been said, the cleanliness of the facilities was superb. Access to the site is easy and there is a supermarket opposite. There is also a good dog walk outside the camp. There is an excellent bus service into Augsburg and we purchased day tickets which covered all transport in the city. Whilst staying on this site, we also visited the Nyphenburg Palace which is about 45 minutes drive away. We can't really add anything further.

loved this site

Lech Camping
Great site stayed for 2 nights in June 2022. Made to feel very welcome. Great pitches and facilities all top class - good accessory shop. Restaurant unfortunately now closed but village with fuel and restaurant within walking distance and supermarket across the road. Regular buses to Augsburg - lovely city - can cycle and walk if you are feeling energetic on traffic free paths. Lake which you can swim in on site with free paddle boards and dinghies. Loved it!
