First Camp Gränna

Why stay here ...

A 4* campsite right by the water's edge with its very own swimming lagoon with shallow waters. Its within walking distance of Gränna, the home of the famous peppermint candy cane.

Gränna is impossible not to love, with its quaint town centre and traditonal small shops, ice cream parlours and the history filled André Museum. It's central location on the shore of Lake Vättern is perfect and right on your doorstep is the tiny harbour where you can hop on one of the many daily ferrries to Visingsö, Sweden's most beautiful lake island.

There is also a wide range of restaurants at the harbour from typical swedish food to Hungarian meat grills and fantastic sea food with terrasses to relax on and watch the magnificent sunsets and the ferry sail in and out.

The campsite has modern service buildings with kitchen facilites and plenty of activites on site for kids including a mini golf/bouncy castle, go karts and kayaks for hire. In the high season there is entertainment and fitness programmes for adults. In the local area there are many cycling and hiking trails around the lake where you can discover the traditonal red and white houses in the village of Röttle with its charming waterfall or venture into the hills, perfect for walking the dog or just taking in the spectacular views of the lake.

Alternatively try your hand at trout and salmon fishing in this beautifully clear watered lake on an organised fishing trip for beginners or experienced fishermen. Days out include Jönköping the main town at the southern tip of the lake and here you will find a buzzing restaurant scene with award winning bars and charming cafés especially around the pier with its superb view of the lake.

Another day out is the Skullaryd deer and moose park to get a close up look at this majestical animal instead of just on a traffic sign! Maybe try a hot balloon trip and sail across the lake, this area is full of wonderful views and special memories waiting to be made.
