Day 1 - Arrive at Burrs Country Park Club Campsite

Settle into the campsite and meet your tour hosts and fellow members.

Day 2 - Concorde & Dunham Massey

The day starts with a trip by coach to the Runway visitor park near Manchester airport. The park’s viewing area affords views of the planes taking off and landing at the airport but it's also home to some retired aircraft that you can get up close to. The planes include an RAF Nimrod spy plane and a DC-10 passenger jet, but the highlight has to be Concorde! The famous and much loved supersonic plane has found a home at the park and you’ll have the privilege of a private group tour of the aircraft, giving you a taste of the life of the rich and famous who flew on Concorde. Try out the seats, see where Queen Elizabeth II once sat, and experience being right at the front of the plane in the flight deck!

The afternoon takes you to the rather more serene setting of Dunham Massey Hall, a 17th-century country house and gardens that is now part of the National Trust. Enjoy the formal gardens, including the Rose Garden and the expansive parkland that is home to a herd of Fallow deer. Take a look at the Dunham Mill, a watermill that has a long history on the estate, before venturing into the Hall itself to discover the house’s history, which includes a period as a military hospital during World War I, and see the house’s collection of Huguenot silver.

Day 3 - Free day to enjoy at your leisure

Day 4 - RHS Bridgewater

The newest of the Royal Horticultural Society’s 5 gardens, RHS Bridgewater only opened in 2020 in the grounds of the 156 acre Worsley New Hall. Travel to the garden by coach and enjoy a private group tour of the garden to hear about its creation and the vast collection of flowers, plants, shrubs and trees.

Enjoy walking through the contemporary welcome garden before discovering not 1 but 2 walled gardens, the Kitchen garden and the Chinese Streamside garden, where you can wander alongside the stream as it winds its way through the woodland. For those who want to explore further you can venture to Middle Wood and Ellesmere Lake. Alternatively enjoy a tea or coffee as you gaze out over Moon Bridge Water and the views of Victoria Meadow.

Day 5 - Manchester

We head into the city of Manchester today where you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour with an authorised Blue Badge Guide pointing out the must-see sights, telling you about the city’s history and architecture and giving you an insight into the modern day city it has become. After the tour, enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace. You might like to visit one of the city's art galleries or museums, maybe indulging in some shopping or simply take in the sights and sounds of Manchester.

Day 6 - Travel to Southport Club Campsite

Say goodbye to Burrs Country Park Club Campsite and Manchester this morning as you make your way towards the coast. Nestled between the town of Southport and the sea, just a short walk away from the beach, Southport Club Campsite is your base for the next few days and your gateway to the Northwest’s other major city, Liverpool.

Day 7 - Liverpool

Travel by coach into Liverpool city centre this morning and enjoy a guided walking tour to discover the highlights of the city, learn about its history, hear stories about its rich cultural background and see its iconic Royal Liver Building with the famous Liver bird sculptures perched on top.

You’ll have some free time to explore the city before the highlight of the day as you take a ‘Ferry cross the Mersey’. No visit to Liverpool would be complete without a trip on the River Mersey so we’ve included a river cruise for you to enjoy the views of the city’s waterfront, so sit back, relax and soak it all in.

Day 9 - The Beatles and the Cavern (restaurant)

Possibly the most famous thing to come out of Liverpool, The Beatles are synonymous with the city. Enjoy a classic Beatles-themed tour of the city by taxi, visiting the locations associated with the Fab Four and their many hit songs. Accompanied by your local expert driver guide, see where the band grew up, spend a few minutes at Strawberry Field, head to Woolton Village where John Lennon & Paul McCartney first met and also the location of Eleanor Rigby’s grave, as well as paying a visit to Penny Lane with its now iconic sign.

Afterwards enjoy a group lunch at the Cavern Restaurant, opposite the legendary Cavern Club where The Beatles once performed. Enjoy a meal with your fellow members reflecting on your highlights of the last few days.

Day 10 - Depart campsite

After an enjoyable few days in the Northwest it's time to head home with some wonderful memories.
