We are a family run Certificated Location set in the small Lake District hamlet of Newby Bridge.
Simply stunning fellside location – that’s how many will choose to sum up Valley End!
The Certificated Location is in prime Lake District territory located at the southern end of Windermere. The National Trust’s Fell Foot park right on the waterfront is just a five minute drive away, where you can take a dip, hire watersports equipment and fully immerse yourselves in the lake and fell views (whether you choose to do it from in the lake or lakeside is up to you!).
The CL is set in classic dramatic Cumbrian landscape, the site itself is green and rural, dotted with trees and views towards the faraway hills and our neighbouring farms with their grazing sheep and local wildlife all about. For your daily walkies (dogs being optional – as it’s a dog-friendly site, too) make your way to the Cumbrian Coastal Way (10 minutes’ drive) or try the trails around Grizedale Forest (25 minutes).
Valley End is a perfect setting for exploring and long walks. Then for dinner out, head down to the village to eat at one of its several hotels, which welcome non-guests. Self-catering is very achievable too, with supermarkets and local shops in Ulverston or Milnthorpe, both within 20 minutes’ drive of the site. There is also a local garage with a well stocked shop less than a mile away along the A590. The A590 and M6 make us convenient to get to.
Due to the special area we are in and risk of fire spreading there is strictly no open fires (fire pits, gas BBQ’s, charcoal etc) on our land - electric grills can be used as an alternative.
