Why stay here ...

Lower Dutson Farm is located just 2 miles from Launceston (or Lanson!) the historic capital and 'Gateway to Cornwall' with its very own Norman Castle and Steam Railway. Get up late and enjoy an all day breakfast at Homeleigh Garden Centre just 400m away or spend the day on site overlooking our pretty 0.75 acre sheltered lake. The site's central location offers easy access to both the North and the South Coast, as well as popular attractions in Devon and Cornwall such as Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and the Eden Project. The site is open all year round and has some hard-standing. Members are welcome to arrive at any time but please be considerate of other guests.

The site has been open since the 1960s and was used as a brickworks in the late 19th Century. You are welcome to fish the coarse lake as well as the River Tamar at a discounted rate. The coarse fishing lake is stocked with mirror and common carp (some weighing over 20lb), tench, bream, roach, perch and rudd. There is no closed season. Our 1.2km stretch of the River Tamar is popular for salmon, trout and grayling. (Salmon fishing season is the 1 March - 14 October, trout season is the 15 March - 30 September and grayling season is the 16 June - 31 October). Guests and pets are welcome to take a stroll down through our fields to the River Tamar, we ask that dogs are on a lead when going through fields with livestock please.

We are just 3 miles from the A30. To find us, take the Launceston exit on the A30 and follow A388 towards Holsworthy. After passing through Dutson turn right by the Club's sign, 300 metres further down the main road from Lower Dutson Farm entrance.

Self-catering holiday accommodation is also available.

Coarse and river game fishing is £6 per day or £25 for the week a discounted rate for Club members.

There is a 18 hole golf course two miles away.

Perfect site to chill and relax

Lower Dutson Farm
Stayed for 2 weeks, it was warm/hot and dry. Lovely relaxed site, park where you like at any angle, due to the warm weather we were in the shade under mature trees, perfect. Some lovely pitches by the lake or in full sun this site has it all. The site is well kept and so peaceful, easy to get to, no narrow lanes to negotiate. Central for north and south coast, Dartmoor and Bodmin moor. Nice walk into Launceston only about 15mins. The garden centre up the road is excellent, the best coffee is not at the main restaurant but down on the lower terrace with great views. We will be back sometime.

Just Perfect!

Lower Dutson Farm
This a very peaceful and well maintained CL. All pitches are well spaced out and the lake is beautiful to walk around. We settled in on a pitch and David came to check on us in the evening and to welcome us. A very dog friendly site. This is a perfect CL and a great place to explore from and relax. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nice location

Lower Dutson Farm
Stayed for a couple of nights earlier in the month. Site is very secluded and quiet, pitches mostly grass and well spaced out. I came for the fishing which is good. You can get fairly close to the pool which has nice well spaced pegs and is quiet even at the weekend. Good head of carp up to 20lbs and plenty of other sport to be had. Will definitely be back. Toilets are basic but clean, fresh water and waste disposal on site.

Rural - perfect!

Lower Dutson Farm
If you're looking for more than an open field, this is a wild flower haven, full of mature trees and a fishing lake, non regimented site with basic clean toilet facilities - this is it. We stayed 9 nights and I could have stayed another. Its very easy to find from the the main A30 - just be aware of parked cars going up the hill out of Launceston. Our friends were staying in one of their cottages a 'stones throw' from the site. This one will be hard to beat.

Lovely quiet site with fishing and walks

Lower Dutson Farm
Just returned from a five night stay with our two Jack Russell's. Only travelled 50 miles from home a lovely little gem on our doorstep. Easy to find no access problems a warm welcome from the owner and other guests. Great for the dogs and for us to chill out, did fishing each day. Very central to visit places of interest and Homeleigh Garden Centre food hall was very handy with quality items. What more could you ask for. Hopefully we will be returning very soon.
