LOVELY LITTLE SITE

Poplars
This is a lovely little site on the edge of the village. Although pitches were small, we did not feel overlooked or crowded. Spotlessly clean facilities - shower/toilet, our host, Dorrie was friendly, helpful and approachable - always stopping for a chat. It is close to the lane and there is passing traffic, but not busy & definitely didn't disturb our sleep. We would definitely return here. Easy access to the coast. Withernsea is nice enough, but we personally preferred Mappleton Beach with free parking at the top of the cliff. Spurn Point is definitely worth a visit - free parking is available, but if you're walking the whole peninsular, ensure you give yourself a full day and take plenty of refreshments. Best to check tide times as in winter high tide it can get cut off. The highlight of our own visit was the City of Kington-upon-Hull, which is about a 20 minute drive from the site My goodness! What a wealth of attractions to be had. Hull Old Town is just spectacular - the restoration and regeneration is just mind-blowing. ALL the museums & galleries are free, as is the Minster and with free/low-costing parking (£2.40 for 12 hours!) we just kept returning. We really enjoyed the street life museum, but there is also the William Wilberforce Museum and Archaeology Museum on the same site, with the History Museum not too far away. Trinity Square Market has a hive of different street foods that won't break the bank. The Old Fruit Market has been converted to independent shops & a range of eateries overlooking the marina. A walk along the river from Albert Docks to Alexandra Docks via Victoria Dock Village is full of history with information boards along the way. No visit to the area would be complete without taking in the Humber Bridge Country Park - again free parking, with access to Hessle Foreshore. With so much to see and do in the City, we really cannot recommend it enough - and with very little pressure on the purse strings.

Warm welcome

Poplars
Stayed here for 2 nights booked last minute. Dorries response back to us to get us in last minute was quick. When we arrived Dorrie met us with a warm welcome. The site is well kept, neatly trimmed grass and hedges. There is a toilet and separate shower which were both clean. The site is on the edge of the village Burton Pidsea. We had 2 peaceful lovely nights. We hope to return in the future, and we got a warm thank you and goodbye when leaving.

Just spent a 3 night break at the Poplars, If you are looking for peace and quiet and great facilities this is the place for you. Grass pitches all level, the grass is always beautifully cut with clippings collected. Electric hook up, Toilet and shower included in price - spotlessly clean The site is really well situated for Hull, Hornsea, Withernsea, Hedon, Spurn Point The village has a couple of pubs serving food and a local shop Lovely rural setting ideal for walking or cycling Dorrie the owner could not be more welcoming - always has time for a chat I can’t recommend this CL highly enough !

Lovely place, close to the beach, and owner 10/10

Poplars

I can't recommend this place highly enough. Plenty of privacy, always peaceful, and Dorrie and her son keep the place 'ship shape'. The beach/cliffs being so close (about 5 mins by car to Tunstall) is a serious bonus, and there are lots of places along the coast worthy of a visit, including RSPB Bempton Cliffs. The local cellular network for internet is good enough for me to stream movies, and the hot shower is just the ticket.
