Total Relax

Jackala
We have just spent the weekend at Jackala. Nest, well kept site. Maryann friendly and informative. So peaceful. There was 4 Motorhome’s in our group and we were able to park all facing in so we could all sit in the middle and it was perfect. Lovely walks and bike rides. Marina is pretty and has places to eat and drink but check opening times. The oldest church in England is only about 10 minute walk and is worth visiting. One mile to the pub which is dog friendly. The surrounding lanes are very quiet so very safe bike riding. We all felt very comfortable and welcome here and will return.

Perfect, Just what we needed!

Jackala
I should start by saying this is the first 10 day holiday we have had in about 5 years. It was really important we found somewhere quiet, with good access to cycling to enable us to relax and have bbqs. This site had it all, Maryann is a brilliant host, nothing too much trouble for her, she has a great local knowledge has a very professional clean and tidy site. We were so lucky, it was everything we hoped it would be and the weather was kind to us to. If you are looking for a slice of heaven you will find it at Jackala. Well done Maryann, we have had a fantastic break staying with you and would highly recommend your fantastic CL site.

Campervan 2 night stay

Jackala
Very welcoming, a handout given on arrival with lots of information, very useful. As the site information says, lots of local walks, cycling from the site very straightforward. Village nearby. I was only staying a couple of nights, but would happily stay longer if in the area again. Facilities all good, as often on a CL, some Heath Robinson approaches! I was the only van for my 2 nights, but no reason to think it wouldn't be peaceful if full. Slightly more expensive than most CLs, but relatively new, very tidy and well kept. Would recommend.

Exactly what I expect from a CL

Jackala
This CL is relatively new and exactly what I expect from a CL. The vans are sited on a grass field with horses in the neighbouring fields. Water, waste etc are all close by. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Electricity has 10 units per day included in price and further units are currently 30p (we didn’t need any more). Nearby are two lovely pubs sadly a third even closer is currently closed. One day We enjoyed a great 6m circular walk along the sea wall from St Peter’s round to the marina and back through the village, and on another we cycled down to Burnham on crouch (25 miles mainly flat). Maldon is also close by. All in all a great holiday

A peaceful retreat

Jackala
We were made very welcome by Maryann and Ralph at this quiet peaceful site. Prior to our visit they had just installed electric meters for each pitch. Ten units were included in the pitch price and anything used above this is to be paid for by inserting pound coins into the meter. We had not come across this before but understand it is a fair system to charge for what you use as we all only too aware of the increased costs at the moment. We had no idea how much we would use and so both Maryann and ourselves were interested to know what are usage was. On both nights we stayed we used about 8 units so there was no extra for us to pay. To put this into context for comparison purposes we have a vw campervan and used the electric for our small fan heater, to run the fridge and to charge our devices. During our stay we enjoyed the 61/2 mile circular walk from the site which took in the Anglo-Saxon church of St Peter’s, the lovely shell beach, the abundance of wading birds and geese along the salt marsh and estuary as well as the marina and pretty village of Bradwell on Sea. We also visited Burnham on Crouch which was well worth a visit for its individual shops, eateries and walk along the sea wall. All in all it was good to visit an area of the country that we had not visited before.
