Lovely peaceful site

Folkards
We have been several times to Folkards and will definately return. It is a sunny peaceful get away in a secluded break in the woods . Our grandchildren love the tree swing, various horses in surrounding fields. Pine cones galore to collect and redistribute. Thank you John for making our stay possible.. Its a short walk into the town , Marina and beach.

Beautiful Place

Folkards
This is a little gem of a place, entrance is a bit tricky. Pitch area is right in the middle of a clearing in a beautiful little wood. Lots of horses scattered around the property and if you are lucky you might spot the odd grass snake or two. Great place for kids and adults Only gripe is we were told in advance to set up on a pitch which we did then we were asked to move after we had set up as we were too close to people staying next to us even though there was no pitch next to us. Word of advice is don't sent up until the owner appears as we weren't the only ones asked to move. Frustrating start to what would have been a perfect holiday otherwise. Will go back but won't set up til given the go ahead. Owner very friendly but needs to be a bit more on the ball about pitching up

Our 1st CL

Folkards

Not having any experience of CLs we did not know what to expect. We found the site eventually (do NOT rely on your sat-nav, follow the printed directionsYell). It was down a narrow lane and through a gate. There was no reception; pitch and the owner turns up sometime to collect your money. The site is a circular glade in a wood so very quiet except for the tweeting of the birds. It is on the edge of a housing estate but you wouldn't know from the site. There are some nice walks straight from the site. Big supermarket just down the road (not really walkable). We had pretty variable weather including a downpour but had no problem with mud. Overall a pleasant experience.

Very boggy!

Folkards
We drove in to this site and found it very wet and muddy although there hadn't been any rain for a while but it is probably due to the shaded entrance, also there are loose sheep and the whole field appeared to be covered in sheep poo! We decided not to stay for fear of getting stuck, on driving out we had terrible trouble due to the muddy slope, we did finally manage it on the 5th attempt! Probably okay for caravans but would not recommend for motorhomes!
