great cl

A lovely cl in a great area - very easy access off the A337 - which is a busy road but you can't hear it from the site. One criticism would be the poor signage onto the cl but other than that nothing to complain about. There is a garden centre and tea rooms and a well stocked farm shop. Also free wine tasting. Water point and elsan are about 30 yards away near the farm shop.

Idyllic place of often repeated return

Discovered this idyllic spot by accident last year and have returned four times already with another in the diary. Yes, it is basic but if that is what you like it's perfect. Yes, there are commercial concerns but they do not impinge upon your peace and solitude unless you want them to - first time we went there we did not leave the site for the whole 3 days, enjoying the produce of the shop (including the wine from the Vineyard), a meal in the cafe and even purchased a lovely plant for a gift. Paul is extremely welcoming and attentive to the needs of his guests. And how can one complain about having to fetch water when to do so is through luscious vineyards. A site for people with soul. If you want everything on tap pass on by please and leave us to enjoy.

Our stay in the New Forest

Our first experience of this site was there was no notice pointing the way to the CL site from the entrance. Though the Vineyard and Farm shop are well signposted it was unclear where the CL site(s) was located. Having asked the way we were warmly met by Paul, who was busy harvesting the grapes. He informed me the water and chemical waste point were behind the shop some distance away from the site. There is no water point on the actual CL site. I personally hate carrying water whilst on holiday and I think CL (and the Clubsites) could do more to cater for modern caravans that are designed to be plumbed into a tap. The site was expensive at £16 per night for what was provided. Having stayed on superior CL sites this year for £12 per night with plumbed in water, electricity, waste provision on beautifully maintained sites I thought that this was not value for money. The site is not set up for the caravanner but is part of a complex of money making business ventures. Though the vineyard had some attraction I cannot say the site was attractive as it had many run down tired looking buildings surrounding it. The site was quiet. Not a great site in our opinion just mediocre. We left early.

One of a kind

A local bolthole for us. Have spent many weekends here, Paul and Haley are great. The site is away from the road, never hear any traffic. Shop has always been good and now with the addition of a tearoom on site. Shop sells the local wine and other local produce, good for cheese, bickies and wine if it's a wet afternoon in the van! Good, safe walk to the Filly Inn and further afield into the forest. Good fish and chip shop in Brockenhurst. The view down the vines is something else and you won't find this outlook at any other CL. See you again soon. :-)

Excellent site, recommended for a peaceful getaway

Stayed for 2 nights on this fab sheltered sunny site with great views of the vineyard. Beautiful site within a fabulous garden centre. Peaceful and well kept site. Looking forward to a week in August.
