A Short Break

Sabines Farm
Third time back at this site. We travel down from Scotland to stay here. On all three occasions I’ve found the Hosts to be friendly and welcoming. If your wanting a site for all the facilities and childrens amusements it’s not for you. This is a working farm /Equestrian centre. Just Five pitches with electric hook up. There is water and waste disposal facilities. Nice level pitches. Dog friendly.Remember this is a farm so chicken and ducks and a goose wonder about. Access is tight but I’m a relative newbie to towing and I managed it ok with a big van. Easy access to town 5 mins in car . All of new forest to explore and some beautiful beaches just 45 minutes away. We will be back again as it’s our new home from home. Andrew & Lorraine

Perfect.

I sit watching horses exercise in the quad, to the side of them, ducks waddle through closely followed by some chickens. There is a big goose but he likes to stay near the stream. In the mornings, I often see pheasant and rabbits grazing just outside my window. I listen to the birds chatter in the nearby trees. For dinner, I walk 2 minutes to the award winning Crow Arch farm shop. Later, I will cycle over to Avon Tyrrell activity centre with the kids. It's only about 15 minutes away. After a full day enjoying the New Forest, I have the food at the Railway Inn to look forward to (10 minute walk) or maybe I will go down to Ringwood Brewery for a tasting (15 minutes walk). The site is clean, flat and I found it easy to access. It has water, a toilet and grey water disposal. The WiFi is strong. The owners, Dave and Elaine, are two of the kindest people I've met and cannot do enough to help. What more could you ask for? It has only 5 pitches so my recommendation is to book early!

Not the best!

Sabines Farm
Really difficult entrance to site. Had to stop traffic on a busy road to allow me to reverse with caravan in order to swing onto other side of the road to access. This entrance was over a narrow bridge with a ditch either side. Owner opened the gate and promptly disappeared seeing congested traffic. Caravan club signs not visible as small and obscured. When we eventually entered I was told by owner that club directions in book are wrong and it would have been easier coming from other direction. There was no indication from owner when I rang to book that the entrance was difficult. Site looked tired and unmaintained e.g. picnic benches rotting. There is the busy road within 3m along length of site, unfenced (just hedge) with no pavement on road. Did not feel welcome. Will not return.

Sabines Farm
We stopped at this site for a night as we were visiting friends in the area. As another reviewer has said, it's quite basic but peaceful, just a little rough and ready which was fine for our purposes. You can walk into the local town without much effort, although their weren't any pavements near the site entrance. .

Lovely site - just what we were looking for & we’ll be back!

Sabines Farm
We were so pleased to find this site and by chance really as we weren’t aware of the affiliated/certified sites. I stupidly left it really late to book a site for the August bank holiday and was having trouble getting in anywhere. I called the Caravan & Motorhome Club customer service and they pointed me in the direction of using the website search function UK sites/search by map/ & then doing a search of where you want to go & putting a tick in the certified locations box as well. This bought up lots of small sites run by club members. I called a few a came across Sabines Farm. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. The site is on a working farm and equestrian centre. It’s really tidy and well kept. The site is behind the riding school with 5 pitches with electric. There is a toilet, not sure about a shower as we used the one in our Motorhome. We loved sites like this, actually much more than the bigger sites as we aren’t bothered about club houses, shops on site etc and as a couple without children, not bothered about any children’s facilities. Would highly recommend this site & thank the owners for a lovely stay.
