Why stay here ...

Buttercup Meadows CL site is a peaceful half acre meadow situated on the edge of the village and right next to a small river where you can relax and unwind. With a dedicated doggy exercise area, we hope it will appeal to pet owners too. Located a mere 3 miles south of the picturesque market town of Market Harborough, the caravan park is ideal for those who enjoy a slow wander in rolling agricultural countryside. It is also a 2.5 mile walk across the fields to Kelmarsh Hall, which has an excellent tea room and walled garden to explore as well as hosting many major events throughout the year.

In the centre of Clipston village there is a beautiful school building that was established in 1667 and has been a school ever since. The famous Naseby battlefield is neighbouring the village too. A little further afield just 15 miles you will find Althorpe House, the former home of Princess Diana and Holdenby House, where King Charles the 1st was held before eventually being beheaded having lost the battle of Naseby. There are many nearby walks offering stunning views over Northamptonshire and Leicestershire to the North.

Nearby activities include an off-roading centre, a gliding club, horse riding, golf, day boat hire, cycle hire at Pitsford Reservouir and upmarket shopping in Market Harborough. All within a 10 minute drive.

There is an excellent pub 700 yards away from the site in the village serving good food, it was established in 1627.

The service point will provide fresh water, waste water disposal and toilet waste emptying facilities. The dog exercise area has a 4 foot perimeter fence. This is an adult only site.

Advance booking is requested although last minute bookings may be available upon request. Feel free to call, email or check out our website.

We will do our very best to make your visit enjoyable and would welcome any practical feedback in order that we make this a special place that you would like to come back to again.

A lovely CL with a loely host :)

Easy to find on the road into Clipston from the A508. The site is well maintained with level pitches and nicely cut grass. We parked parallel to the road close to the water point. Lovely views of the fields and hills so lots of things to spot. Although just off the road into the village the site was very quiet as not many cars seem to use the road. The lady who owns the site, Jane Austin, was there to greet us and we she gave us a couple of delicious cup cakes along with a walking map of the area. The weather was very hot so all our good intentions of walking went out the window and we sat and chilled instead. The tv reception was good and although there was no electric hook up the open site meant the solar panel on the van kept the leisure battery topped up nicely. We will definitely go back again so we can check out the walks, cycling and the local village pub :)

Great new addition to the network

Just got back after a five night stay at Buttercup Meadows in late May. Whilst this is an off-grid site that just provides the water and chem. point etc this really is a lot more than just a field. The site is well organised and maintained with a "chill out area" next to the brook and a dedicated area for dog exercise. All set in some lovely countryside just on the outskirts of the quiet Clipston village. As usual I've made a short film of the site which can describe it better than I can. https://youtu.be/f2CAtgC1xr0 Just one note about the approach we accidentally turned off the A508 one junction early (just before Kelmarsh hall). This brought us through the village of Clipston rather than the longer route that avoids the village. Both are passable with a caravan and the route we took makes the turn into the site easier as we were on the opposite side of the road. It's probably best to follow the recommended route and just make sure you swing wide when turning in but don't panic if you "accidentally" take the prior turning like we did.

Peaceful site

This is a quiet field surrounded by countryside with plenty of room to spread out. Handy dog walk area and short walk to local pub. Warm welcome from the owner.

A lovely and tranquil site

Jane was very welcoming and showed me where everything was, including a lovely place to sit and relax by the small river which was idyllic in the warm afternoon sun after a long journey. The site is very peaceful, and I would definitely come back to stay. Highly recommend.

A beautiful peaceful site

We were welcomed to this lovely site on a beautiful sunny evening. We tracked the owners hot air balloon as it passed overhead and we had a very enjoyable stay. I strongly recommend this site.
