Shepton Mallet Certificated Locations

The market town of Shepton Mallet can be found in amongst the Mendip Hills in Somerset. Its position on the Fosse Way – an important Roman road – has led to some significant archaeological finds in the area.

Remnants of the wool and cloth industries that flourished in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries in Shepton Mallet can still be seen today - most notably, some fine examples of houses occupied by the merchants at the time.

These days, Shepton Mallet is known for its food and drink production, including cheese-making and beer, cider and perry manufacturing. Local eateries and pubs serve up many of these delicacies.
