A decent stay for the price but some issues

Temple House Farm
I have stayed on dozens and dozens of Farm sites and have had cows act as my Alarm Clock on many an occasion. I say this to temper what I have to say. Every morning during a 5 night stay we were woken before 6 am, not by cows, but by the owner moving pieces of farm machinery around his open metal barn that backs onto the CL. Not just for a few minutes but for over an hour every morning.(There was deathly silence from this area whenever we were on site after that time.) No chance of turning over after this. Now, I don't know if it just happened to be the "wrong" season from our point of view but I do know that I would avoid staying here at this time of year again. In addition we were treated to a Karaoke session from the Waggon and Horses pub on the Old Frome Road one Saturday night until midnight. It's about 400 yards away as the crow flies with nothing between us. Apparently it's a regular thing. The CL is a large round field enclosed by mature trees and hedges on three sides and the barn on the other. Plenty of room to fit 5 units on without crowding. Pitches are level in the main. There were quite a few flies around. More than we normally see on farm CLs. All grass pitches, which showed signs of previous members attempts to get off it after rain. We were fortunate insofar as it was dry for our stay. The EHU, Recycling bins, Elsan and fresh Water points are all found in the same area behind the barn. We had no problem with wifi or phone signal (EE). Access and directions were straight forward. You can access from the Old Frome Road if approaching from the north. Just turn right at the T junction, 2 miles down the road, and immediately right again. Farm on the right in 200 yards. We were able to shop in Shepton Mallet at Aldi and Tesco and there is a M&S at Frome. We also had access to many areas from this location. The Mendip Way footpath cuts across the bottom of the site. All in all a decent stay for £12 per night as no shower or toilet but I do wish the owner would give a bit more consideration to the CL users as we were not the only ones tying who found it off putting.

Just what a CL for this price should be

Temple House Farm
This is a working dairy farm so don't come here if you don't recognise cows need to be milked and that there may be a 'countryside smell. Do come here if you're looking for traditional no frills caravanning. EHU, tap, grey waste point, elsan point. Adult only, dog friendly, eggs available, walking from site to at least 2 pubs (covid regs permitting). Loads of space, sunny open site, peace and quiet apart from the occasional tractor. Roger the owner is lovely. Just the place for us to relax and only 45 mins from home so we'll be back!

Beautiful Peaceful Site in glorious Mendip countryside

Temple House Farm
Our second visit to this beautiful CL where we received a warm welcome from Roger the owner of the farm. Pitches are flat and well spaced out, with hook-ups and great tv reception. Lots of beautiful local villages to visit (Would recommend Mells and Nunney, which also has a fantastic tea room with home-made cakes). The Mendip Way passes through the corner of the farm if you enjoy walking. Wells, Bath, Frome and Bristol are all close by if you enjoy larger places to visit. Shepton Mallet is less than 10 minutes for shopping (Try the Deli in street below the Market Cross). The nearby Poachers Pocket provides excellent meals and the landlord keeps his beer in excellent condition. A wonderful site for just lazing around or as a base for loads of interesting visits, l would highly recommend. Drayton Lad

Temple House Farm
Lovely CL on a working dairy farm, thus associated noises to be expected. Made very welcome by owner. Mr Reakes kindly checked that we were able to get off site with our motorhome following heavy rain. Wind turbine did not disturb us. Would definitely stay again if visiting Bath and West showground.

Rural Site

Temple House Farm

Have just returned from a 3night BH stay at this rural CL. Nice grassy field behind the farm barns, surrounded by trees & hedging. This is a working farm therefore you must expect some noise from movement of tractors and heavy machinery. It is an adult only site, however, the owner is not averse to relatives/children visiting members who are staying on the CL. This is apparently what actually occurred on the earlier review according to the owner.  There is a small wind turbine in the adjacent field but we barely heard it at all during our stay and it did not disturb us. The site was convenient for us to visit Clarks Village (outlet shops) which was about a 30min drive away. The owner was very friendly and we would have no hesitation in using this CL again, especially at such a good price.
