Why stay here ...

Roger and Pauline welcome you to their fantastic new purpose built CL caravan site on their small Suffolk farm, offering a unique caravan/motorhome experience. Within 3/4 acre of level grassland, enclosed by fencing, sit the superb pitches with attractive open field views, beautiful sunsets, unpolluted night sky and a maximum of five pitches being used at any one time. This really is the place for a peaceful tranquil get away.

All five hardstandings are identical and large enough for your caravan/motorhome, awning and car! Two large all grass pitch options are available by arrangement. All of the pitches are fully serviced.

The onsite facilities are outstanding, including a beautiful unique custom built 5 star amenity building, with under floor heating harnessing the very latest energy saving technology. There is an indvidual WC and a washing up room with two sinks and drainers. We have two large personal bathrooms each fitted with luxury shower, toilet, hand-basin, shaving point, hand and hair dryers. One bathroom is fully fitted for people with disabilities and is wheelchair accessible.

An information room for guests to find what's on offer locally includes a bookcase with books that guests can borrow for the duration of their stay. There are some perfect places to read one of these books, maybe take a stroll around our hedge-lined field, stopping half way at a bench conveniently placed. Sit in a little corner there to relax for a while, enjoying the tranquillity and birdsong. Perhaps take a book over to the natural pond and find a bench there, or maybe the picnic benches ... The building has an office, which doubles up as a small shop facility supplying basic essentials including fresh milk, bread and free range eggs from a local smallholding (run by our daughter Shelly). Additionally the small holding supplies very tasty free range rare breed sausages, bacon, burgers, pork as well as lamb and more, perfect for morning fry ups and evening BBQ's.

The site is dog friendly, with a lovely dog walk around our 15 acre meadow and the dogs even have their own dog wash area.

Barn Owl Meadow gets its name from the barn owls that are often seen flying over the meadow and shares its home with a wide range of Suffolk wildlife such as sky larks, partridge's, pheasants, deer, lots of hares, and an amazing woodpigeon with no tail, and winter time sheep in the field!

Barn Owl Meadow is on the Suffolk/Norfolk border with Diss (8 miles), Stowmarket 8 miles and the beautiful historic town of Bury St Edmunds, with its Cathedral, Abbey Gardens and market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays, being well worth a visit 13 miles away. Within a 3 mile radius are four villages providing a useful mixture of pubs, cafes, post offices and village shops.

If you want a relaxing break, in lovely countryside surrounded by nature with mod cons at your door step then this is the place for you. For more information please visit our Website.

Up there with the best of CL's

Well, in our opinion, this lovely CL is up there with the best of them. The site is really well kept, there are 5 hardstanding pitches, and all are fully serviced except for TV. There is a new and very modern service block, having 1 shower room with a hand washbasin, wc, hair dryer, and razor socket, There are plenty of hooks, and a good bathroom stool, & Loo roll is also supplied. There is also 1 accessible shower room with a low hand washbasin, and grab rails, furthermore, there is a 1 separate wc with hand washbasin and hand dryer, There is also an information room that includes essentials for sale and payment by honesty box. Also in the block is a room for dishwashing, with 2 good sized sinks, with basins and drainers, oh yes, washing up liquid is also supplied. There is also delicious meat products from Shelley's Farm Shop, very reasonable prices too. The owners are very friendly and helpful, so, is it worth the £20.00 per night? hell yes, would recommend this gem of a CL to any and everyone.

A Gem of a site

Recently spent 7 nights on this lovely well kept site. Everything went smoothly from the welcome to the day of us leaving. We were blessed with good weather and although near a road/lane it is not busy or noisy. The facilities were first class.. We have been using CLs for some years now and these were the best toilet and shower facilities we have encountered. Dog walk around the perimeter of the field and all pitches were serviced. Someone previously had written in the comments book that this was a "! champagne site at lemonade prices" and I couldn't put it better myself.

Can't fault this one

Owner contacted us before arrival with barrier access and toilet / shower access codes because she would be out for the day. She called to see us later. The site is wonderful with hard standings large enough for a car, caravan and an awning, water supply, waste water drain and electric hook up for every pitch. The toilets and showers are superb and kept very clean and tidy. An information room with loads of local interest and other information available. The owner is a club member and very helpful as well. An excellent dog walk complete with 4 "poo bins" is provided and, if the weather is warm, each pitch even has a garden table provided on a communal area in front of the pitches. The CL is very quiet and rural with plenty of bird song and sightings. Site security is maintained by 24 hr cctv, a barrier and a main gate which is shut at night. There are a number of places of interest around and there are pubs / restaurants not too far away. However there is also a local fish and chips and a Chinese take-away who will deliver to your caravan. There is plenty of walking near the CL but if you want to go out and about you will need your own transport. To sum up - visit this CL if you want comfort, peace and quiet, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Pauline and Roger for having us, it was a lovely week. We will definitely return. Tony, Jean and Izzi dog.

a CL not to be missed

We stayed for 10 nights late May this year and would suggest that many other CL owners could do well to learn from this site. The welcome was first class with follow up visits to ensure we were happy with our pitch and all was as we wanted. The site is well maintained and facilities of a very high standard and always clean . Great sensor lighting at night to ensure safe visits to the shower block / bins etc. A room on site gives plenty of local info. and owners seemed more than happy to help if needed. Not the cheapest CL but worth every penny so they deserve to be busy so you will need to book early as the good news reviews spread !! Graham & Lorraine T
