Framlingham Certificated Locations

Framlingham dates from the early medieval period and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The modern town was voted the best place to live in the country by Country Life Magazine in 2006.

The area is a pleasant one for walking in and the coast is close, but for many visitors the obvious attraction is Framlingham Castle. This imposing bastion was the place where Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen of England and there are extensive visitor facilities. These include a visitor centre, cafe, walkable walls and fun for children, while regular Tudor-themed events take place.

Other local attractions include the Mere, a pleasant little lake adjacent to the castle that teems with wildlife.
