Why stay here ...

Garnetts Gardens (est 1994) is a local, family-run shop which offers a unique combination of a working nursery, plant centre, farm shop, gift area, cafe and caravan site. Our CL is situated alongside the shop in the picturesque valley of the River Ore, in the village of Hacheston (near Framlingham). It is abundant with wildlife including barn owls, stoats and the occasional otter patrolling the river.

The site itself is flat, with its own entrance and gate. There are both hardstandings and grass pitches, which makes us accessible in all weather conditions. The site also benefits from additional parking facilities.

Each of the 5 bays has its own electrical point and plenty of space for awnings, as well as stunning views across the valley, overlooking farm meadows and Parham Church. There is also an emptying point, mains water and a dustbin area with a recycling bin available onsite.

We are a dog-friendly site with a number of walks starting directly from outside your door.

Despite not having a WC on the caravan site itself, during shop opening hours there are toilet facilities available for use, which are suitable for baby changing and those with disabilities. Free WiFi is also available at our shop.

The farm shop is only 100 yards away and stocked will all of the local produce you need for your stay including milk, eggs, bread, cakes and biscuits as well as tea, coffee and newspapers.  Our cafe is open with an inside seating area for you to relax in Tuesday - Saturday (8.30-5) and Sunday (10-4), offering hot and cold drinks, homemade scones (fruit and cheese), hot sausage rolls and selection of cakes - or treat yourself to a Cream Tea. We also have a number of gifts for you to take back for friends and family.

The central location of our site makes it a fantastic base for exploring the local area either by foot, bicycle or car. Surrounding towns include Framlingham (3 miles), Woodbridge (8.2 miles), Ipswich (16.5 miles), Aldeburgh (11.9 miles), Southwold (21.6 miles) and Norwich (38.8 miles). Likewise, we are a short drive from a number of Suffolk's famous attractions:

  • Easton Farm Park (2.8 miles)
  • Farmlingham Castle (3.9 miles)
  • Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon Burial site (8.3 miles)
  • Woodbridge Tide Mill (8.6 miles)
  • Rendlesham Forest Centre (9.1 miles)
  • Thorpeness Boating Lake (12.9 miles)
  • RSPB Minsmere (16.6 miles)
  • Latitude Music Festival (17.7 miles)
  • Southwold Pier (21.5 miles)

We are also a short drive from a number of pubs and restaurants. The local railway station is Campsea Ashe, a 5 minute drive away. There is also a community bus which operates when booked, and will directly pick up/drop off at our shop if requested.

Also ideal for cycling, couples, walking and motorhomes.

The Garnett family look forward to welcoming you to our CL.

Ideal site for a short break

Garnetts Gardens
This is a lovely, basic site. We stayed for 2 nights in January and found it ideal for a short break. Easy to find, spacious entrance, hard standing available, lovely view and the bonus of the garden centre for the cafe or shopping. David the owner was very friendly and helpful, always available and nothing was too much trouble. There is a road right next to the site but we didn't find it too busy and it was perfect for access to lots of places of interest. Definitely a worth while site to visit.

Agree with all good reviews. A great site. Owner particularly helpful - with his contact we were able to correct an electrical problem at very little cost. Will visit again.

Apr 2021 - 3 nights Great site, all exactly as described. Lovely bike rides and walks from the site. Shop is great for fresh fruit, veg and delicious cakes and locally made ice cream - wish we’d stocked up more. The site is by the road but if falls totally quiet overnight and we weren’t kept awake at all. Owner is v friendly and helpful. Fantastic little site.

Yet another enjoyable stay

Garnetts Gardens
We visit this site at least 3 or 4 times a year and have always been made welcome by the family. The owners David and Jennifer always make time for a friendly chat. There is now a cafe in the garden centre which serves delicious food and proper tea in a a teapot. The site is well placed for Framlinghan, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Ipswich. Would thoroughly recommend this site if visiting Suffolk.
