Wiltshire sunsets

Baydon Hill Farm
Lovely little CL on a country farm. NIce pitches, well trimmed grass and each pitch laid out with own water supply and EHU bollard. Excellent view over the valley.

A friendly telephone exchange and on arrival in person equally so! The village is a 10 min walk max with a deli and two lovely pubs. The site is well kept and the scenery from the site is fab, £10 a night with elec is more than fair. Sunset out the back of my van made my day!

Great little place

Baydon Hill Farm
Stayed here for 3 nights in early April. It's a small site, the pitches are a good size and there is EHU and water on each pitch. You can park where you want to, depending on what's available as the pitches are marked. The view is of open countryside. You're on top of a hill so it can get quite windy. Aldbourne is a lovely village in easy walking distance (uphill coming back). Coop, post office with a cafe and two pubs. At £10 it is excellent value. There does appear to be a 'resident' in a motorhome and he did play his music, very loudly one night until around 22:30. It didn't really bother us but it's worth mentioning. He also has a dog which he lets out unsupervised. Again, not a problem but it could be for some. If we were in the area we would stay again.

1/4 mile from Aldbourne village with its many facilities

Baydon Hill Farm
This is now my favourite CL. Access was very easy and the site was quiet and spacious. The views are incredible and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets. As mentioned by others we didn't come across the owners and couldn't find them, but paid an elderly gentleman in an adjoining cottage which he seemed accustomed to. The main reason we picked this site was so that we could cycle along the disused railway line from Ogbourne St George to Swindon which I highly recommend, although the cycle to and from Ogbourne St George has some quite challenging hills! We also did a 5 mile circular walk which started directly opposite the CL. The village has so much to offer - 2 pubs, a Post Office with an amazing deli, a CO-OP, library, grade 1 listed church and more. There are lots of refences to a Dr Who episode from the 1970s that was filmed in the village - I won't spoil it and tell you what they are, I'll let you discover them!

Stay ruined by one selfish (permanent?) dog owner

Baydon Hill Farm
Great site, very well kept. facilities good. However, 1 camper (who may be a farm worker as he seems always to be there) thinks the field is his personal dog exercise space. Sending his dog past my van several times a day, even though he MUST know it upsets my dog
