Excellent CL with stunning views of the Bass Rock and the Firth of Forth

West Meikle Pinkerton Farmhouse
Lovely CL with stunning views over the Firth of Forth. Well organised. We were given a warm welcome. Easy access from the A1 but far enough away, up a hill, to be quiet.

A little gem of a CL

West Meikle Pinkerton Farmhouse
A lovely little CL on a busy working farm, but with stunning views over Dunbar, Bass Rock and beyond. There was a lovely welcome from Mrs Gilchrist and she works hard to keep the site looking neat and tidy. There was no noise from the A1 - the only reason we gave a 4/5 for peace and tranquility was the grain dryer ran late into the night...but it is a farm afterall so nothing that ear plugs couldn't resolve! Easy access to local attractions and if you want to go to Edinburgh the train from Dunbar was an absolute pleasure to use. Visit the coves around if you like wildlife and St. Abs was a lovely trip out too, with a fab walk along the coastal path. Thank you Mrs Gilchrist - we hope to be back again one day.

Beautiful site with fantastic viewd

West Meikle Pinkerton Farmhouse
We loved this site. It has easy access from the A1, it has fantastic views across to Bass Rock and Dunbar - even better if you climb nearby Doon Hill! We were made to feel really welcome by the owner who also told us of all the best places to go in the area. 8 days of bliss & lovely Scottish scenery & attractions. It was also an easy day out by train & tram to Edinburgh and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Thanks for a fabulous holiday

A one nightstopover

West Meikle Pinkerton Farmhouse
Booking the site was easy with the owner who was very pleasant. The site is exactly as described. Part of a working farm but very quiet with lovely views over Dunbar and the sea. The site is flat and well maintained. Whilst quite close to the A1 we did not hear any road noise. A lovely sunset finished our evening. There is a nice walk up to Doonhill if you have the energy!?

Lovely site

West Meikle Pinkerton Farmhouse
Back for our annual long weekend at West Meikle Pinkerton and it never disappoints. The site sits on the hill overlooking Dunbar and has outstanding views, however this is also the site only down site - it is totally exposed to the elements. Easy to find, just 1/2 mile from the A1 but high enough that you never hear the road. 2 minute drive to Dunbar and miles of dog walking or cycling from the site. Grass pitches with ehu and closes for the winter. Be aware that the price on the CAMC website is from 2014 and it's now £20 per night.
