Why stay here ...

Our CL site is situated in the heart of Broadslap Farm which is a small family run farm specialising in soft fruit predominately pick your own from May to September and pumpkins in October.

We are easily located approximately 1.5 miles off the A9 part of the valley of the River Earn with no compromise on views to the Ochil hills and beyond.

On site you will benefit from our farm shop and cafe which is open 7 days during fruit season with reduced hours during the winter months. The luxury of being able to have delicious farm fresh home cooking as well as glorious views has to set us apart. The local village of Dunning (approx 2 miles) has two pubs that offer food as well as warm hospitality. Dunning is a small village that centres around the 12th - 13th century former parish church of St Serf where the Dupplin Cross is displayed. There is a local convenience store which caters for all daily grocery requirements as well as a range of household goods. Dunning also sports it's own 9 hole golf course.

Our CL site is approximately 3/4 miles from the B9141 down a well maintained (partially tarred) farm road with passing places. We pride ourselves in our farm and strive to maintain the verges in the best possible way with signage to ensure you know you're on the right road. When approaching the farm steading take the sign for farm and pass the small steading and wood yard and the CL site is presented on the left hand side.

The 5 well-spaced hardstanding pitches are 10m x 10m with a 3m grassed area between. There are 3 pitches to one side of the site and 2 opposite all staggered so as not to face directly to your neighbour. And all run in a West to East direction. There is drinking water located on both sides of the fully fenced site as well as 16 amp electric hook ups. Disposal for chemical (blue water) and grey water are located close to the entrance of the site and within easy reach for disposal. General waste bin is located close to the entrance. WiFi is on site but signal can be variable and slow. Own sanitation is required at this time but we hope to have toilets and showers later in 2019.

Gleneagles train station is located approx 8 miles to the West with Auchterarder approx 5 miles and Perth approx 10 miles from site. Your closest village is Dunning 1.5 miles from site.

For the train enthusiasts among you can spot the trains passing too. Dogs are welcome but as we are a working farm and have soft fruits at low level as well as stock we must insist that they are kept on leads at all times.

great stop off or to explore the central belt

Broadslap CL
Lovely easy to find from the main road, and well spaced out pitches. Railway close to the site but did not pose issues to us. The Farm shop is a great little addition for breakfast, or stocking up on items. Facility block is disable access, only suggestion would be for a floor covering from an aesthetic point of view. The grass had been cut recently and with rain did pose messy shoes as it is not picked up, again not a big issue. Will be back.

Good CL but could be better!

Broadslap CL
We stopped here for one night on our way further north and it was fine for a stopover. The overall site is a good size but it's a shame the pitches are all at one end of the field and facing each other - it's not a great layout and doesn't offer a lot of privacy. There is a railway line close to the site but it didn't bother us as trains come and go quite quickly and then it's quiet again. We certainly prefer a railway line to the more constant noise from a busy road. The on site cafe was good and provided us with an excellent breakfast before our departure. Overall, one night was OK but the layout means we wouldn't stay longer - sorry!

Flat site but too close to a train line.

Broadslap CL
A neat site but very close to a busy train line. Advertises WiFi but no log in details provided, we arrived on a day the cafe was closed so didn’t get the code to the shower and toilet until the following day when we went into the cafe to enquire. They didn’t bother to clean or empty the bin in the shower / toilet in all the three days we were on site, thought the cost of £25 a night was steep especially as they didn’t bother bringing the site details to the van or email them in advance as they knew they wouldn’t be open. Not a site I will look at returning to as most CL owners ensure you have details ready for your stay.

Enjoyable stay

Broadslap CL
We stayed for two nights 22nd and 23rd September 2022. Two adults and a dog, touring caravan. We needed to push back our stay one day following a breakdown and this was arranged without any difficulty. The email communications were returned promptly and with a will to help. The site itself is a good size, well enclosed and is reasonably level, all good sized gravel pitches. There are excellent views across the valley. There is a shower and toilet facility specifically for the use of the CL guests. It was by far not the worst I have seen on CL's and basically does what it says on the tin. There are separate facilities for emptying chemical and grey water. All pitches are well served for drinking water and electric (16a) The cafe on site is absolutely first class. The young man Euan running the place was more than helpful and engaging at all times. The food, always freshly prepared by their chef, is excellent. We enjoyed cooked vegetarian breakfasts both mornings and some delightful cakes and coffees during the afternoons, all very well prepared and served. It is true that this site is very close to a railway line and when the trains pass for the first time, can be a surprise but we found that we were not disturbed after 11pm ish and 6am in the morning. Contrary to a separate review on here, there are recycling bins - I used them. There is also a separate general waste provision. In my view, this CL is good value for the £20 per night we paid and we will happily return. Despite the dates of our visit, the site was full to capacity each night with others who apparently shared our view of this location. I say well done Euan and team.

Great views and a handy cafe and shop

Broadslap CL
A small and basic site around 2 miles to the village. There is a good shower and toilet in the corner of the site. Very close to the train line but they are so fast they don’t really bother you. Other than that it is very quiet and peaceful. We received a warm welcome and the staff were helpful and friendly. The café and shop are a few minutes walk up the road and serve excellent quality food and sell some lovely gifts. We were on pitch 2 and faced the railway lines with the lovely views ahead. All the pitches are quite spacious. The beauty of a CL is allowing units to pitch in any direction to maximise views and comfort. It’s around 40 minutes drive to Scone Palace which is very interesting.
