Why stay here ...

New for 2019 our CL site is situated in the heart of Broadslap Farm which is a small family run farm specialising in soft fruit predominately pick your own from May to September and pumpkins in October.

We are easily located approximately 1.5 miles off the A9 part of the valley of the River Earn with no compromise on views to the Ochil hills and beyond.

On site you will benefit from our farm shop and cafe which is open 7 days during fruit season with reduced hours during the winter months. The luxury of being able to have delicious farm fresh home cooking as well as glorious views has to set us apart. The local village of Dunning (approx 2 miles) has two pubs that offer food as well as warm hospitality. Dunning is a small village that centres around the 12th - 13th century former parish church of St Serf where the Dupplin Cross is displayed. There is a local convenience store which caters for all daily grocery requirements as well as a range of household goods. Dunning also sports it's own 9 hole golf course.

Our CL site is approximately 3/4 miles from the B9141 down a well maintained (partially tarred) farm road with passing places. We pride ourselves in our farm and strive to maintain the verges in the best possible way with signage to ensure you know you're on the right road. When approaching the farm steading take the sign for farm and pass the small steading and wood yard and the CL site is presented on the left hand side.

The 5 well-spaced hardstanding pitches are 10m x 10m with a 3m grassed area between. There are 3 pitches to one side of the site and 2 opposite all staggered so as not to face directly to your neighbour. And all run in a West to East direction. There is drinking water located on both sides of the fully fenced site as well as 16 amp electric hook ups. Disposal for chemical (blue water) and grey water are located close to the entrance of the site and within easy reach for disposal. General waste bin is located close to the entrance. WiFi is on site but signal can be variable and slow. Own sanitation is required at this time but we hope to have toilets and showers later in 2019.

Gleneagles train station is located approx 8 miles to the West with Auchterarder approx 5 miles and Perth approx 10 miles from site. Your closest village is Dunning 1.5 miles from site.

For the train enthusiasts among you can spot the trains passing too. Dogs are welcome but as we are a working farm and have soft fruits at low level as well as stock we must insist that they are kept on leads at all times.

I am glad I found this CL, excellent CL for stopping over close to the A9, the site is nicely laid out with level hard standing, EHU and a toilet/shower block for the exclusive use of caravaners the cafe serve some nice food, there is a railway line next to the farm but the noise did not bother me

A gem of a site

We stopped overnight on our way home after a recommendation from a friend. The scenery is amazing and the cafe serves lovely food. You can also pick your own fruit. The speed and closeness of the train was a bit disconcerting the first time it happened but it passes so quickly it’s not a problem. There was no train noise overnight. There is a small toilet with shower which is immaculate . Can highly recommend this CL.

Not worth £20 a night.

Broadslap CL
Arrived for a 3 night stay, went straight to our pitch which was allocated when I booked. Went to pay, found a young girl selling fruit beside the farm shop, who took our £60 in cash, without asking for CAMC membership or offering a receipt. No information given regarding access code for toilet, disposal of rubbish, waste water or chemical toilet. Eventually found them all; rubbish bin about 50 metres beyond entrance to CL. NO RECYCLING FACILITIES - disappointing. Good point - pitches are big, levelling blocks needed. Grass desperately needed cutting- we had to ask to get it cut as it was so long. The toilet/shower has wet walls and a bare concrete floor, the bin was full when we arrived and had not been emptied by the time we left and the toilet paper was all gone on the day after we arrived. And there was no soap provided. In fact the toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay and sad to say there was faecal matter on the underside of the toilet seat! I find this disgusting at any time but particularly so in the present pandemic climate. Why not tell the owner you may ask. Well I wouldn’t know him if I fell over him. He doesn’t live on site and once the farm shop is closed for the day the only people apart from CL users are farm staff living in static caravans just outside the CL. The only member of staff/ management/ owners who came on to the CL during our stay were the 2 men who cut and strimmed the grass. There is a main line railway next to the CL. The trains start passing at 5:25am and stop just after midnight, and NO you don’t get used to the noise. As for the views these are great once you look over the top of the poly tunnel on one side, the 6 foot fence on another side and the wood yard on a 3rd side. The 4th side looks over the railway. Would we go back? NO Would we recommend this site? NO Is it worth £20 a night? DEFINITELY NOT.

Peaceful lovely site

Broadslap CL
This was our first time on a CL site and we absolutely loved it. The pitches are large and level with electric hookup. Toilet, water, waste disposal and elsan point. It was quiet with beautiful views and walks around the network of fields. The train line is just a stones throw away but wasnt an issue for us. Broadslap fruit farm toasties and soup were very nice, along with freshly pick fruit, home made scones and clotted jam. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Theres a lovely little gift shop too! We will most certainly be back! The restaurant is opening up from 7th August so we will look forward to eating there next time!

A wonderful long weekend break

Broadslap CL
We had a lovely relaxing family time with wonderful views. Pitches are a great size and each have hook up and water at every pitch, toilet facilities are also available. The train line is close by but surprising how you get used to it. We found nice forest walks a short drive away and also visited Perth and many surrounding towns and villages. The PYO fruit was delicious and a treat to have on the same location. Also lots of ground to walk the dog.Very reasonably priced.
