Beautiful

Plas Newydd
Beautiful dog friendly CL, fantastic views, bit of a slope on the hard standing but we parked side on and were fine with chocks. Owner gave us a warm welcome, made sure we were happy with the pitch etc. Toilet and shower facilities were extremely good, lovely powerful hot showers and always clean. Lots of local information in the hut on site. This is a tranquil, well kept site with beautiful views, would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic.

A true gem of a site. Peace and quiet, and lovely dark sky at night for star gazing.. Lovely view to wake up to too. Washroom, excellent, clean and tidy.and virtually up to caravan club site standards, but this is a CL, Roomy enough though. Only constructive critisism that I mentioned, was no where to place your 'soap bag' and towel, unless you want to use the shower room. Shower room is exceptionally large btw. The entrance gate needed adjusting, as it takes a bit of effort to line up the bar to go through the locating hole on the adjoining gate. The entrance off the road is a bit short too, so your car /caravan will stick out into the road when arriving and departing, blocking the lane to traffic, as happened to me unfortunately on departure whilst faffing around with closing the gate securely. Only minor issues these though, as everything else in my opinion exceeded expectations. I WILL be back, as it's only a 24 mile drive for me.Thank you Alison, and keep maintaining that grass which looked more like a carpet! ..

Fabulous site

Plas Newydd
Just come back from our second visit to this lovely site. Very peaceful location with great views. The facilities are immaculate and really well thought out (the shower cubicles are L shaped so your clothes never get wet - genious). The owners are really friendly but also leave you to yourselves. Very helpful information shed with lots of walks suggestions and other activities. You can walk up into the hills directly from the site which are empty. Easy to day trip into Llangollen and then escape the crowds back to the tranquility of Plas Newydd.

Outstanding views and walks

Plas Newydd
Only one small van on site when we arrived meant we had the choice of pitches. The hardstanding pitches were too small in length so we chose the least sloping grass pitch second from the end. Unfortunately, despite being fully chocked we were still badly sloping downhill so a quick call to Alison the next morning, we parked up alongside the fence in front of the very end pitch. By the third night our front wheel chock had moved outwards 45 degrees due to the slope of the field so pretty relieved when we finally reversed off the chocks. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend any motorhome over 8 metres and 4.4 ton in weight to attempt to pitch here, I wish we had known in advance how much of a slope it was. On the plus side, fantastic views and brilliant walks from the site, the dog loved it. The facilities are spotless, large decent showers, water tap on each pitch and electric included. This site is so peaceful, occasional vehicle on the road behind, and the clop of horses hooves are the only noise you will hear. Fantastic value for £19 per night. Didn't have the pleasure of meeting the owners whilst we were here but Alison was very pleasant and helpful on the phone. Well recommended to everyone in smaller motorhomes!

Excellent CL

Plas Newydd
Everything about this CL is so good. The owners, Anthony and Alison have put a lot of work into this place. The pitches, the views and most of all the facilities are top class. Great walks from site too. Will definitely use this CL again, thankyou. Sylvia and Sid Davies + Bailey the collie.
