Why stay here ...

A real find, Moorhampton Club Site is a charming, popular getaway which commonly sees its visitors return time and again. Formerly a railway station, the caravan park is nestled in the dreamy North Herefordshire countryside, with daffodils on the bank at the entrance and apple blossom in the orchard nearby.

Moorhampton Club Site is located in the area of the famous black and white villages - start at Weobley only 4 miles away; there's a trail you can follow to explore some of them. Right off the beaten track, here you will find the opportunity to experience a perfect example of an old English village, with the church at its heart and 14th to 16th century timber-framed cottages lining its streets. The market town of Ludlow and Ludlow Castle are both well worth a visit. Also located nearby is the beautiful countryside of the Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The caravan site is also within easy reach of the beautiful River Wye - places like Symonds Yat offer canoeing and fishing for those who enjoy water sports. Golfers won't be disappointed as there are well kept greens and facilities to be found nearby.

Not quite...

In an ideal location for exploring NT properties, Hereford, Leominster and numerous other local villages and landscapes. The site was immaculately kept, as have been all other CC sites that I have stayed on and very nearly empty, as others have said. The toilet/shower block was always spotless, and no, it's not the most modern decor or fittings, but it works and is functional (mind you, I'm not sure it sees a whole lot of use.) However... One of the reasons we picked this site was plenty of other reviewers saying how quiet and peaceful it was. I cannot in all honesty say that was the case while we spent our two weeks there (24/9 - 9/10). Yes, the site itself is very quiet indeed, and in the middle of the night the owls screeching nearly scared me to death. BUT... every single daytime and well into dusk while we were there there was significant road noise from the nearest A road, almost constant tractor and HGV noise and the warden chose a Sunday afternoon to cut the grass on his ride-on. The orchard across the road was great for off lead dog walks (the 'dog walk' on site is ridiculously small - a token gesture I think) but only until the apple harvest started and then it's more or less a no-go. Go to Credenhill Park Woods for a really good walk. Make sure you have all your essentials! The office doesn't sell a single item other than a newspaper, no chems/gas/loo roll, nothing. Not even laundry detergent for the on-site laundry room. When I asked where I could get something caravan specific, the wardens didn't know. It would be useful if the wardens posted a print out of the weather forecast, I did ask about it, and they didn't seem interested in letting me know. As others have said there is no WiFi/3G/4G (but I did just scrape a 'G' signal on EE - sometimes) No TV hook-up either if you want that. In summary, a great site let down by little things especially background noise in our case.

A site with great potential

A beautifully located site close to an 'A' road. The facilities are tired but clean and unless the Club are running it down for closure it desperately needs a revamp. Most pitches are too small to accommodate fixed bed single axle vans. No wi-fi (although the wardens appear to have a connection!!) and no phone signals (O2 or BT.) Unaccountably quiet! When we left on Sunday only five other vans remained!! The wardens are excellent but I fear are fighting a losing battle. Shame. We can't afford to lose this on top of Presthope!

Just around the corner from Dad's house !

This was our very first visit to a Caravan club site as I have family living about 7 miles away just north of Hereford. We travelled from Sunderland. The Site was lovely and flat, with both Grass and Gravel Pitches for caravans and Motorhomes with Good easy access for both. The Wardens were very welcoming, and helpful, and the Toilets and showers were spotless. The Showers were lovely and powerful and super hot !! There is no 3G/4G/WiFi on this site, but a short walk up to the top of the Lane achieved a signal to make a call. This is really a very quiet site, and I wouldn't recommend it for visitor as no facilities for children. (especially as no internet connection) but if your looking for Tranquil Piece and Quiet - this is the place to come.

Ideal 'Staging Post'

We have been calling here off and on for nearly 30 years (initially when there were no facilities!) - en route to the SW or South Wales. It is quiet and peacefully situated to the West of Hereford - enabling 'unwinding' at the start of a holiday. Choice of pitches and usually plenty of space - with a welcome from the Wardens that is always 'stimulating'!! We will visit again.

Sept 2016

We really enjoyed our stay on this site. There was a choice of grass or hard standing and the facilities were very good. One or two of the grass pitches were a little uneven, but with plenty of choice it wasn't a problem. As stated in the site details there is no wifi or mobile signal, yes, lovely and quiet. It was necessary for us to drive a few miles to get reception, but you are in the heart of some beautiful countryside.
