A simple question. As the caravan club no longer offer caravan insurance as such what suggestions for a new insurer that does.

It could also be that his claims record is better than his typing skills?

No to both Alan I was quoted £750 by the other club  £540 by the CAMC for "cover" and £600 by Saga. As someone said its "some caravan" and that's not lost on the folks who would steal it.

Must be a better caravan that what the gypsies have. Make sure it is well insured before they steal it

Hi all,

We've noted the information the Financial Ombudsman Service has given to EasyT and will be following this up with them.

The Builders group insurance policy we have taken out should allow members to access the FOS and to date we know that has been the case, as we have had a couple members use the service and the FOS have responded to them in their usual way.

How did the follow up go David? I am interested as I would consider using the CMC come December if there is more info.

have used Peacock insurance for several years and very much cheaper than others last year with good cover. worth trying others but obviously always depends on own circumstances. we only go UK and store at home, these sort of things can make big differences to any insurance.

Good morning everyone.

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you all regarding the FOS. We have now received a response from them, which confirms that a complaint about the Club’s Caravan Cover can be raised against Builders Direct S.A. and it would be within their jurisdiction.

This has always been the intention of the Group Policy that we took out to protect our members, and we are pleased to inform you that the FOS are updating their internal records to reflect this.

If you have a complaint about a claim which you feel we have failed to satisfy, you can take your complaint to Builders.  If after receiving a final response letter you remain unsatisfied you can raise a complaint against Builders with the FOS and they will deal with the complaint in their normal way.

We hope this helps to clarify and reassure you all that, as previously stated, our Caravan Cover continues to provide you with access to the FOS.

Thanks

Dave

I must be alone in my opinion that the club is simply exploiting a loophole to avoid paying the tax, and its competetors do pay the tax.

The club must make a massive profit from this dodge
