ADD - I was watching Gardeners World last night and there was a report about a wildflower meadow near Louth. It was mainly the work of one 80+ year old guy who'd overseen the conversion of 60 acres of arable land into a traditional meadow, largey through growing cowslips from seed at his home. I think it might have been one of the "jubilee meadows". Certainly worth keeping an eye open for while you're there. smile

There were 60 coronation meadows completed I think and Badger farm Louth was 5 acres. No idea what was on Gardener's World ........ it's on TV innit?

Francis, you could come off M5 at Jnct 6 and follow the A449 to Kidderminster, the A442 through Bridgenorth past Telford and join the A41 to Whichurch and the A49 to the M56 junct 10 and then back onto the M6 one junction later. We use that route going south most times, it may not be the fastest but it does avoid all frustrations of the motorway holdups.

Yes, I had to smile when he said he aimed to do about 4 acres a year and thought he could keep going till he was 90 when someone else might take over. smile

This is a quote from a petition web site regarding Flowering meadows.

"Just last Friday The Today Programme – the BBC’s flagship, agenda-setting news show – interviewed Dr Trevor Dines from Joan’s Hill, a stunning ancient meadow in Herefordshire. His passion and enthusiasm for magnificent meadows resonated deeply with nature-lovers; the following day people flocked to National Meadows Day events across the UK and the hashtag trended on Twitter."

For anyone that would like to join in the petition here's the link.

Brue - Lincolnshire may be classed as flat lands but the Wolds are beautiful. We're lucky enough to live about 20/30 mins drive from them so we can easily pop out to one of the vantage points and sit admiring the view. 😊

Sorry to hear about your type 2 diabetes husky. I presume you will be montored at your GP surgery. Our son had the same diagnosis some months ago and is now on a strict diet and has lost quite a lot of weight. I hope all goes well for you.

I hope you enjoy the New Forest Francis. We have driven through it many times on our way to other places but it is still on our 'to do' list for a stay.

I watched Gardeners World as well last night. Such a great programme. I loved hearing about the Coronation  Meadows. Thanks for the links.
