Another one of those days where the rain arrived in the morning then disappeared after lunch so we drove the 2 miles to a car park and walked down towards Llanddwyn Island just off Newborough. There is the remains of a church on the island which is accessible at low tide. Unfortunately the tide wasn't low enough for us to venture that far down the empty beach.

Both photos taken from the same place. One looking to the opposite bank across the Malltreath Straits and the other towards the island with Snowdonia in the background. You can se the difference in the weather. Anyway it was pleasant 6 mile walk. Got back to the caravan, took our boots off locked the car and within 1 minute the heavens opened. Phew.

Tammy, can you add that site to Ttdas thread about small sites in UK section. I'll be making a note of it. Sounds a lovely day.

Ttda, Monsal tunnel is well lit. In fact we walked through it last year on the last day before both us and the Nellies went our separate ways and lockdown descended upon us.

I remember doing that walk the last time we were on Anglesey, WM, but the tide was out and we managed to get down into the sands.

It rain all night here too, JVB, but was dry when we got up. We went to Colby Woodland Garden (N/T) this morning and walked down to the shore at Amroth. We did have the odd short shower then the heavens opened just before we got back to the car. After lunch had a second walk up through the Rhododendron woods and luckily it stayed dry. Then drove over to Wiseman's Bridge and walk the old line, through the tunnels to the outskirts of Saundersfoot, which was rather busy so we soon about turned.

Those in Scotland seem to be having the best of the weather, and enjoying their stay. Will the restrictions in place in Moray affect those travelling there in any way?

SteveL, you are just down the road from us, we are at Poolewe, lovely area. Where are you heading next, we are going north to Clachtoll.

We are moving to where you are currently on Monday. Specifically to visit the gardens. Unfortunately then we have to start our homeward run as the MH is booked in for a service, delayed due to covid, Did think about putting it off but there are warranty implications. Hopefully back to Edinburgh in June.🤞

Shopping up here is a bit different, only one shop and quite often not much choice if the delivery man is due. Bread was £1.79 and 4 pints of milk £1.75. When you are used to Aldi and Lidl prices it comes as a shock. 😁

Only £1.79 eh? You lucky girl. Try buying Gluten Free bread and see how much that costs, especially per slice. £2.50 for about 12 slices for me.smile

We knew some rain was due about 11ish today so stayed local and went to the nature reserve just up the road for an hour and a half. Got home and, yep, rained. This afternoon though has been lovely but some on site complaining the north and east coast of the islands wet. We went for a walk for a good 5 miles on the west coast without any rain and a good bit of sunshine.

We had an email from some friends in Norfolk asking whether "You 2 Gypsies are likely to be home mid June as we're heading your way". Typical of their bad luck as we ARE.laughing So, it will be nice to see them again. Have to see if we can manage something as one of them can't walk very far.

Hope those away are having fun.

WN.....you have friends?😯😁🤣 Seriously, the thoughts of saying an outside based hello with friends and family again is something we are looking forward to, fingers crossed🤞

Wet day here as well, although we did manage a good walk this morning in the dry and sunshine. But the rain has kept me out of the garden today. Sadly couldn’t find an excuse not to do a bit of domestic drudgery, but at least house is tidier😂

Mum day for me tomorrow, then we have an evening vet appointment in Sheffield Tuesday, so going to take MH out for day, come back into City from West. Not sure where yet, might do Monsal Trail on bike, while OH gives pooch a long walk. Or maybe Ladybower.....🤔

Ttda, we count anyone who sends an email to us as friends. It's a very loose term.😁

We seem to be getting the better of the weather here in the NW. Yesterday was another dry one with lots of sunny periods. Took a walk from the site up through the remnants of the old Caledonian forest with it predominance of Scots Pine, some hundreds of years old, onto the flanks of Beinn Eighe. It was apparently the first designated UK National Nature Reserve back in 1951. If your lucky you might  get a glimpse of golden eagles. Unfortunately we had to content ourselves with the magnificent scenery. 😀

I've enjoyed reading about the various trips on here, Scotland is looking good Steve, especially with clear skies.

We had an amble out to Crossthwaite yesterday evening, I hadn't looked at the old church before, obviously can't go inside but the outside is very interesting, such an ancient spot.

We're taking it easy in Keswick!

Very grey start here today,

Several aircraft this morning out of Luton, surprised gone quiet nowlaughing

Big  discussion last night  and a shuffle of our bookings, means we are not staying  at home now until 22nd June (possibly)have advised sprogs and our neighbours, will need a trip home via Commons Wood to readjust both vehicles  and can now lighten load carried

Now found OH much safer from falls in c/van, have also worked out easier method of transporting her buggycool
