Lovely CL

Just returned home after 8 nights at this lovely, well kept Cl. Beautiful uninterrupted views with the sea in the distance. We were lucky to see a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Alastair checked everything was ok after a rather windy night and updated us on the British Cycle race which was passing the CL. We managed to do the circular walk from the site and saw a deer on our travels. There was some noise from the farm traffic but it is after all a working farm so was to be expected and didn’t really bother us. First time to the Scottish Borders and hopefully not the last.

Best CL we’ve been to

OK so this CL is not as cheap as some and you have to pay a deposit (which is fair enough…this is a business) BUT for £20 per night we had a serviced pitch and free wifi. Plus we had an amazing view on a hard standing pitch. The view is always changing and photos don’t do it justice. Alastair made us very welcome and he keeps the site very tidy. The access from the A1 and entrance road is very easy. Coldingham is a lovely village (Spa sells most things and is open everyday) with a nice beach then St Abbs and St Abbs Head are stunning. We also took the opportunity to visit Berwick on Tweed and Holy Island. Eyemouth is worth a visit too… sitting in the harbour eating fish and chips and then seeing the seals being fed was a great day. Yes sometimes the farm traffic can be noisy but it is a working farm and it was very interesting talking to Alistair about the farm. Oh mustn’t forget the dog area. Just right for letting our dog off lead to have a run around and do his business. Lots of longer walks nearby. Alistair has produced a sheet detailing two off road from the site. All in all we had a wonderful stay and hats off to Al who so obviously cares over and above.

A CL with Views

First time staying here, stayed for a week. Very clean and tidy with recycling bins as well. Al met up with us on 1st night, had been texting us with details of the site and pitch before we had arrived, very welcoming. Pitches are hand standing with decent size grass area but slight sloping so leveling may be required. Serviced pitches but drain is at top of pitch. Great for stop overs or longer stays easy access from the A1. Coldingham very small but pleasant, St Abbs not far away, beach about 2 miles, more to see at Eyemouth, very nice bakers. Lovely views across the sea and fields and watching the cattle wandering about, can see for miles. Would stay again.

Lovely CL

This is a very clean and we'll looked after CL. Serviced pitches and good space for caravan, car and awning but the noise of tractors going past your van from 6.30am to 9pm continuously is a no from me. Left a day early couldn't stand it any longer.

First visit to Scottish Borders

We had a lovely two week stay at Bee Edge. The site is immaculately kept, the hard standing pitches are slightly sloping and fully serviced and all have a sea view over the fields. The farm was very busy bringing in the harvest, we enjoyed a farm visit given by Al and his young assistant Peter. The area is beautiful with plenty of coastal walking a lovely safe bay and handy bus service. Thank you.

First class CL, definitely in our top ten.

Our first visit and hopefully will not be our last. Pitches are well spaced with hard standing, but careful positioning of the caravan allowed us to place the awning on the grass. Each pitch has it's own hook-up and grey water drain, although a minor gripe, the pitches do slope and may need some extra levelling. But the views across Coldingham to the sea are stunning and well worth the pitch fee. The site is on a farm and while we were there (Aug 2022) the fields were a hive of activity as the farm workers toiled to bring in the harvest. It was fascinating to watch the combined harvester and hay bailer do their magic and clear the field so quickly. The surrounding area is beautiful, with lots of small coastal villages to visit. Will we we go back? Absolutely.

A lovely stay

We stayed 3 nights at the end of July, large flat pitch with views over farmland and over to the sea. Bee Edge is well maintained and made for a very pleasant stay, Al the owner called in to check all was ok on our first evening. The area fenced off for dogs to have a play off lead is a really nice touch, hopefully more people will introduce this to CLs. Can recommend unreservedly and if in the area in future we will stay again.

Fantastic CL site

We love this site, great value for money, it is the 2nd time we have visited and the site is very clean and tidy, it is fully serviced and has a lovely little dog paddock. The views are amazing and you can sit and watch the shipping world go by, we even downloaded to the shipping app to see what was going past! We saw hares in the field too. Since we went last year the bushes in between pitches have started to grow giving you a bit more privacy. Reasonable size pitches too. It is about a 15 min walk into Coldingham by the road, there is a wide grass verge before reaching a footpath, or the owners let you walk through their fields as another option if you don’t want to walk by the road. Easy access to the A1. Very quiet and peaceful, we had cows in the field opposite this time, they were very friendly but didn’t spend a lot of time near the site. Definitely recommend, hopefully we will be back again next year. Al is a lovely chap and very helpful, keep up the good work.

Great value

Its as good as it possible can be, I have stayed on over 50 cl,s in 20 years and I have voted this the best for 2022. full service pitch hard standing, information can be found in a box in the utility area. Best of all free WiFi that works! owners web site is good, they are welcoming, July 2022 price per night was £20 which is good value. If I pass that way again would defiantly use it, if I can get a booking! (book way in advance as this site is going to be busy) hopefully they will continue with the high standard they have set themselves with future improvements. thank you
