Peacefull haven

We enjoyed our stay at Broardmeadow farm, scenery was very picturesque, plenty of nice walks.  The site was easily accessed ,quite a narrow lane, but nothing to difficult. And it was well layed out. Nicola was very helpful to.  Very busy farm, but loved seeing all the animals about.  In easy reach of chatsworth, and many other places. Looking forward to visiting again.

peaceful and calm

Stayed for 5 nights in March 2016 after the heavy rain in the area, Mrs Walker was extremely welcoming and could not do enough to help us when we experienced a plumbing problem with the caravan. site is very well presented and access by a track road highly recommended

Basic but stunning

Basic but beautifully kept cl, we are currently staying on the grass pitch and it is rather wet but not too much of a problem. Stunning countryside and fabulous welcome. Access road can be easily misconstrued as just a dirt track if heading from Ashbourne as the Tarmac is broken up and gravely at the end but as soon as you turn off the main road it gets better after about 30 yards. Booked for two nights very late notice and happy to be fitted in. The road is very quiet with a car about once an hour during the day and nothing at night. Only improvement would perhaps be a toilet as with a family you can have more than one of you needing it! Looking forward to exploring the local area after a beautiful walk from site this morning.  Would recommend if you like very peaceful and basic sites. We do!

A Lovely CL in a stunning location

Booking this CL was very easy, Nicola was very friendly and helpful and warned us that a local road closure was causing a lot of traffic to use the lane behind the site, in case that was an issue for us. The CL is located up a steep, single track lane, but nothing particularly difficult and access onto the site itself is very easy, with a gravel 'road' off which the 4 hard standings are positioned.  despite heavy rain, we got onto our pitch very easily and the nice shortly mowed grass made the short walk to the water point a dry footed affair. The location of the site is stunning, with lovely views and lots of wildlife in and around the paddock.  My wife loved the new born lambs in the field next door and the owners were very friendly and we felt very welcome. Being on a working farm, there was some animal/farm vehicle noise (not a problem to us)  and as warned, there was quite a bit of traffic using the lane to get around a closed main road.  i would imagine the lane is almost traffic free normally, so probably a lot quieter. The location of the site is ideal for walking, we walked from the site along Bradford Dale and drove a couple of miles to more easily access Lathkill Dale on our second day, having agreed a late departure. We loved this CL, its location is beautiful and the friendly owners made us feel very welcome.  We would certainly be happy to return.

As a side note, as stated in the site details, motor homes cannot drive to the water/disposal point.  Despite very heavy rain the day before, one tried while we were there, promptly got stuck and ploughed up the lovely paddock, which was a shame.  If you need to drive to the water point, perhaps chose a different site.

Our kind of CL

Recently spent two weeks on this peaceful site which is tucked away on a quiet lane. It has far reaching views, and there are many walks that can be done from the site.  Pitches are well spaced with 16amp hook up, 4 with hard standing and one grass. The owners Nicola and Mark make you feel really welcome,we will definitely be returning.

Excellent CL

Set high up a narrow road next to a working farm with commanding views across the Peak District. A level and well kept paddock with adequate space and a charming and helpful lady running it. Great base for Chatsworth, Matlock and Bakewell. Tranquil except for the tractors bringing in the hay at all hours, but that's rural life at harvest!??

a CHARMING LITTLE SITE

Recently stayed on this site and what a gem.We were going to the Chatsworth country fair and this site is ideally placed. Ideal for visiting Chatsworth at any time. Well looked after and friendly owners. Lots of nearby public footpaths which was ideal as we are dog walkers. Will be back again

Gem Gem Gem - definitely returning

This is an absolutely brilliant site. Thanks to Mark and his family for a wonderful stay in August 2015. The site is level and well appointed with gravel parking for outfits and a clean and well maintained service area. The views are lovely, especially the sunsets and there are some wonderful walks straight from the site. Plenty of space for children and adults alike. I can't say how much we enjoyed this oasis of tranquility in an otherwise packed Peak District. We will definitely return.

Ideal site

We have just come back from a week at broadmeadow. On arrival we received a friendly welcome from Nicola, the owner, telling us about the local area and some of its attractions. Although the site backs on to a lane which is hidden by a tall hedge traffic noise is not a problem, the pitches are all level and spacious, there was no need to level our motorhome. The site is ideally placed to visit Bakewell and Chatsworth House and great as as center to walk from. We highly recommend this site and will return.
