My sort of site

Just back from a two night stay at Brunette Cottage Caravan Park and must say this little rural CL is my sort of site, clean, quiet, pleasant owner nice views even good weather.... Did a very good walk direct from the site along lanes and footpaths in a nice circular walk. The tardis like toilet block is well worth checking out, nice warm shower great for this time of year. Like how the local wildlife is looked after with many bird feeders and food stocks at hand, nice one. Each pitch has its own water tap so no long slogs with heavy containers. Only negative point is that we had to use chocks to get level front to back, side to side is ok, so Paul work on this please for us motorhomers.

Little Gem

Where do I start? What a lovley quiant little gem. After a delay in arriving, due to a Motorway accident, Paul rang to see if we had broken down as it was now dark. Did he need to do this no, Big thank you Paul. He told us he would wait at the Gates to let us in, which he did and even helped set up our caravan, Again thank you Paul. once set up, which only took around 15 minutes, TV tuned in to over 127 channels. Couple of drinks to settle down then bed. Woke up next morning to what we can only describe as being in paradise,WOW view over to Welsh hills outstanding. all pitches emmaculate to say the least. Our two French Bulldogs,Ruffus & Reggie loved the dog walking area. Paul, what a brilliant idea with the Toilet Facilities, which can only be described as a Tardis once inside. We have booked again for a long week end to have a totally relaxing time. BIG THANK YOU PAUL. See you next week end. PS, we can't wait to book a full week in for next summer.

Best CL we have visited

We missed the turning due to overgrown trees/shrubs covering the signs from Whitchurch, fortunately as the traffic was light, we were able to do a uturn at the next road junction. This site is approx 1.0 acre, all hardstand pitches (some small levelling blocks were needed though) and great views. As already been said, they are well spaced out, each pitch has EHU point & dedicated water tap, on some pitches you might need more than the standard 7.5 meter pipe. Facilities for re-cycling were available and chemical empty point with water tap for flushing; the whole site is immaculate with well-kept lawn between each pitch and a credit to the owners Paul & Helen who work hard to keep it so. One pitch, the one we were on, was next to an electric pylon, which blanked out all TV and even satellite reception on that pitch. Good job we took plenty of DVD’s. A section of the site is dedicated to dog exercising, which is also maintained to the same standard as the site. The site is adjacent to the road, which can be noisy during the day with local and agricultural traffic, but this did not cause us any concerns. Malpas is approx 5 miles away, which has shops and banks. Whitchurch is approx 8 miles with Tesco and markets on Fridays. We will be returning, and would certainly recommend this site. Only problem is, now you all know about this little gem, we will not be able to get a pitch again. Thanks Paul for calling to let us know we could visit a day earlier. I have placed my vote for you. Hope to see you soon. Regards Paul

BEST SO FAR

We arrived here around 7.00 pm on 5th September and it was lovely to see our name on a board showing us where to pitch. Paul came out and greeted us and showed us where everything was. The site is first class and so well laid out. Paul and Helen obviously take a lot of pride in making sure their visitors have a fantastic stay. Lovely views from site and the pitches are spacious. The grass is so well kept and the little toilet and shower is very clean. We will  be back to explore more of this beautiful area. Sophie said many thanks Paul for your kind donation. Look forward to staying with you again. Cheers. Simon, Carol and Sophie

We agree too

Stayed at Brunette for first time for long bank holiday weekend and will definitely be back. The site is an absolute credit to Paul & Helen. Pitches are well spaced out with own water point and EHU and the lovely flower tub per pitch is a lovely touch. The 'shed' housing toilet and shower is immaculate -which is not surprising when you see how well the whole site is cared for.  Its very peaceful and we hope next time we visit the weather is kinder so we can eat al fresco and just soak up the views in the sunshine. The best CL site we have stayed on and has my vote for CL of the year.

We agree!

It's all been said by other reviewers:  the site's immaculate, the owners are friendly, the facilities are excellent.  In 16 years of caravanning (we're newcomers compared with some of the reviewers) I don't think we've seen a better kept CL.

Just voted for this site to be CL of the year

My wife and I chose this site mainly as a base to support our son who had entered the Ironman Triathlon at nearby Whitchurch. We are so glad we did. On arrival our names were on a board by the pitch and there was plenty of room between the hard standing pitches, which all had a drinking water tap. The layout of the site puts the main Club sites to shame! The site was immaculately kept and it was obvious that both Paul and Helen had put a great deal of thought into the facilities provided. View from our caravan was towards the Welsh hills. Unfortunately Paul could not arrange the weather so they were occasionally obscured but we did have a few wonderful sunsets. One of the best CLs we have been to in our (far too many) years of caravanning so I have just voted for it to be CL of the year. A lovely 7 day visit.

A superb site

From the initial welcome of name boards on the pitches, to the immaculately kept grass and shower and toilet facilities with lovely views over open countryside this is a lovely place to come and relax.  Paul couldn't have been any more helpful.  Our dogs loved the site and the little dog walk was really welcome first thing in the morning and at night.  The provision of a dog poo bin was surprising but excellent. If you are looking for somewhere quiet with access to some great countryside this site is well worth trying. Like us, I'm sure you'll come back.

What a Find !

We have just returned from this CL after spending 6 days there. We have been in the Caravan Club for over 40 years this is a CL not to be missed. All the pitches are hard standing these are extra wide, all have water and electric. The grass is like a bowling green, tubs of flowers are placed all around the site. The dog walk is more than enough to give your dog a walk. The Shed ?? well this is a room that must not be missed ,toilet, shower, wash hand basin & heater. Its the best "shed" I've ever seen. We will be returning to this site it is so friendly, Paul & Helen deserve to win CL of the year. Thank you . Mike , Doris & Megan.

Very Impressed !

Booked at Brunette Cottage for 1 night but wished it had been longer. Very pretty site down a quiet country lane, owners very welcoming and your name and pitch number shown on arrival. Very peaceful, lovely views. Clean and characterful shower and loo area. Site also has its own dog exercise area ! Would recommend
