Idyllic site

A super spot. A warm welcome from Paul and Helen who are meticulous over the upkeep of their CL. The site now has 5 hard standings and the option of almost manicured grass if you prefer. It also has a path to the superb washroom which is one of the best CL facilities we have come across. Lovely views across to the snow capped Welsh hills. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful CL site with trendiest washroom in a shed

We booked the site at the last minute, we've never stayed on a CL site before so weren't sure what to expect. Paul made us very welcome, the site is immaculate with great views over unspoilt countryside with the Welsh mountains in the distance. The washroom is a brilliantly kitted out shed which is spotlessly clean. Great local pubs with good food and Whitchurch and Malpas both have takeaways and restaurants. We have already booked to return for the spring bank holiday.

Immaculate site, friendly welcome

We love CLs and this takes the top prize for us so far. Well signposted from the main road, nothing worse than not being able to find your pitch and signposting does matter. Lovely roomy pitches, 2 on hard standing, water and electricity on all pitches. Beautifully mown grass, ( we could do with advice for our lawn!) Hard track into the field, a lovely little dog walk on site. The best shower room in the prettiest shed that we have ever seen. Equipped with all the necessities, including a very efficient wall heater. perfect. So much to do in the surrounding areas, I feel sure we'll be back. If I was going to be REALLY picky I'd suggest a hard path from the track to the shower room/ loo.  Very much recommended.

Lovely site

This is the best kept CL site we have ever been to, the toilet & shower facilities are like home from home, a lot of thought, care & special little touches have been put into it & we really appreciated everything. Paul & his wife are so welcoming & have taken time to print out places of interest, pubs, restaurant's, the fish & chip shop recommended were absolutely fantastic. Lovely dog walk on site, the field is perfectly mowed, plenty of space between pitches & each has it's own electric & water. We will definitely go back & would recommend this lovely little gem to everyone.

Lovely CL

We were warmly welcomed by Paul and just loved the views from the spacious, flat, fully serviced hardstanding as we have a motorhome. We caught the bus into Whitchurch -from the site turn right and walk up to the main road, approximately one mile. We saw some lovely sunsets over the Welsh hills. On another occasion we walked to Malpas village, which is approx. 3 miles away,. Although this was a road walk not many cars passed us. There are many other footpaths in the area. The toilet and shower room was superb. It was a very enjoyable visit, and would highly recommend.

How it should be.

We have now stayed on this site twice, each time the experience has been first rate. The welcome from Paul the owner is warm, welcoming but not overly effusive. The site and its facilities are maintained to a very high standard. Facilities such as a wc and shower room are included as is water and mains to each pitch. Paul is meticulous about the five 'van rule, but there are more than five pitches so you have a choice (not Hobson's!). There is a well defined and laid out area for dog owners to walk their dogs. Even over the limited time we have known the site improvements have been made such as a couple of hard standings and a double gate making entry and egress easy and safe. Access to the site is via a typical rural lane, however drive sensibly and considerately there will not be any problems with oncoming vehicles. We will be returning soon to this gem of a CL.

Excellent, peaceful & beautiful surroundings - great for dog owners!

We booked Brunette Cottage as a first run out having upgraded our caravan. We wanted adults only, peaceful, with dog exercise facilities and boy did we come up trumps. A very friendly welcome, totally relaxed outlook from Paul made an excellent start. The new toilet shower facility based in a new shed would put many house bathrooms to shame and is excellent for a CL. We had a lovely 4 nights here and will be back! As already mentioned the 1.5 miles of narrow lane is not ideal but there are far worse.. with a little care its not a problem. One suggestion for improvement is for our doggy friends.. they loved the exercise field.. I wish more sites had this kind of facility to let dogs have a run as it lowers their energy levels and makes them less likely to bark. I was a little concerned that there was no barrier between the dog field and site.. I'd hate a dog to spot a rabbit and go chasing it (I appreciate not everyone loves dogs - especially large soft hairy German Shepherds like mine!). How about a wire mesh fence and a gate to the field? Other than that this is nigh on perfect!  Wink

Peaceful country site with lovely views

This relatively new CL is a really well kept site in open countryside. Well spaced pitches are served by individual water and electric supply. Wrexham and Whitchurch are about 20 minutes away. The site owner Paul is extremely welcoming and helpful. The minor road off the A525 is single lane in parts with passing places so be prepared!! Having said that the site is well worth a visit and one we will use again. There are plans afoot for a toilet/shower on site to enhance your visit.
