Great Northumberland break

Site stunning with easy access both in and out, wonderful dog walk to the rear of the site which our dog loved:0) Our 1st time to Alnwick and we were not disappointed, great pubs all dog friendly. Great beach at Alnmouth only 5 miles away and only £1.50 to park all day, great value!!!! We arrived Saturday morning and was fully aware by the owners there would be 6 caravans for the 1 night and we moved to our pitch the following morning. The owners were very accomodating allowing us to arrive early and very helpful with information on the surrounding area. The view from the site is stunning with horses in the next field who were very friendly. Over all a great site and we will be returning soon, thanks:)

Don't bother!

Problem with over booking. Rude owner. Difficult access. Problems with horse flies due to adjacent paddock. Overall a shambles!

Good Location

Would definitely use this site again , lovely location , in walking distance to Alnwick, short drive to Alnmouth with its stunning beach. A very dog friendly area, most pubs and some shops welcome dogs and all beaches. The site is good for dogs with a lovely dog walk next to the site and the disused railway line only 10 minutes walk away. All pitches are hardstanding with grass for the awning. The owner is friendly and not too intrusive. Would recommend

A lovely peaceful site.

A CL of a very high standard. A level newly prepared site with all hard standings. Good access to all pitches, water and disposal point. Even though close to the A1, (which provides very good access) there is no noise issues at all, even from a close by industrial site, which is out of site and mind. The sky at night is amazing. The whole of the Northumberland coast is easily accessible from this site, with many castles and houses in easy reach. Another site we will certainly return to. (Note! There are some longish term road works at the A1 junction, but the site is very well signposted via the industrial estate. Don't let these put you off)

Good little site

We stayed here for three nights earlier this week, there are major roadworks nearby but there are yellow traffic signs which if you follow will help a lot! The site is next to an industrial estate but no noise is really heard at all. The skies at night are fab if clear. There is a small chemical point, taps and rubbish bin. Horses in field next door. The pitches are all hardstandings which are easy to back onto, the 10amp hook up was not enough power for our kettle but we have now purchased a dual voltage one! £12 pn is a good price, we visited all beaches and castles in area for the days we were there and would definitely return if that way again, it's over 250 miles though so might not be anytime too soon.

Hidden Gem.

A very pleasant experience, the owner was supportive and helpful but unobtrusive, this was my first visit to a CL in over 20 years of membership and i must admit i think I've been missing out. Thank you.

Perfect CL

Having recently stayed here for 3 weeks we need to return as there is so much to see and do in the local area. The owners are very helpful, checking we were ok when during our stay we had snow.  30 min walk into the centre of Alnwick and 10 min drive to coast...... Perfect. Close to A1, easy to find and minimal road noise.

Peaceful break

Our son, although young, loves Harry Potter and so we selected this site mainly for its proximity to Alnwick Castle, and stayed at the end of the season. Although it is close to the junction of the A1 which made it easy to get to and for going out and about, we found the site lovely and quiet. We were greeted on arrival by the owner who made us feel very welcome. Good hard standings, and very little needed to be done to get our caravan level, with electric hook up close by; although the entrance is a bit tight so caution required. Would happily stay here again if visiting in or around the area. With the B&B being on site, then this is a good place for staying with non-caravanning friends/family.

A Nice CL

It has all been said by previous members' I thought it was worth endorsing this site as it is ideal for visiting the local area and beaches or for an overnight stop enroute North/South. We definitely intend to visit it again.
