Lovely site

This was a lovely site, quiet and well laid out. The owner was friendly and helpful, providing us with local info and leaflets. Nice dog walk over adjacent fields. Would definately return to this site.

Peace & Quiet

Only stayed here for one night in March 2014 but will certainly go back. Very quiet and peaceful, lovely couple who are very helpful.

Wonderful

I hesitate to write a review as the site is so lovely and I hope it will not be fully booked when we want to go again next year.  The views are simply stunning and the location makes the most of the vista.  Every detail has been thought of down to the removal of part of the fencing so that your view from sitting on a garden bench is not obscured. The only down side is that the approach road is narrow and it cold be awkward if you were to meet a tractor and trailer going in the opposite direction.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October 2013. It is a very well kept sight. It is tidy and the grass is mowed well. Good bins for recycling. The owners have prepared packs of information on local attractions and walks for visitors to borrow. Road is narrow from the A30 but there are plenty of passing places and we had no problems. Good view

A week well spent

We stayed here for 7 nights at the beginning of June, a lovely well maintained tidy site on the edge of Dartmoor, with very obliging helpful owners. The views from the site are tremendous, with dog walking allowed in the two adjacent fields, property of the owners. The facilities were ample for a cl with waste points easily accessible and well maintained. One freshwater tap and ample refuse facilities all proved very adequate. There are numerous electric hook-ups over the site allowing you to pitch about anywhere you please. TV and mobile phone reception were all good as well. The road in although a little narrow in places posed no problem to us, well worth the effort as you don’t get such a lovely peaceful site without adventuring away from the main roads. All in all a lovely resonably priced CL (no extra for dogs or awnings) with owners that know what they are doing and what the customer requires. One of the best Cls we have visited, we will return.

Beautiful

What a beautiful area with a very well kept site high up on the hill with stunning views over the distant hills. We only had time to stay one night but a problem we came across was the very narrow roads with high hedges this would have made going out in our motorhome difficult. Nevertheless with a smaller camper or a caravan the site is idyllic..

Happy times

The owners were friendly and welcoming on arrival. Great views from our pitch overlooking the valley and hills looking west. Grass cut regularly, nice & tidy....... Did some good walks from this site, had a really nice time here. The only down side was the wind coming up the valley continually.Generally a well run site that will call you back for a revisit.

Holeacre Review

A very nice and spacious CL, with fine views and friendly, helpful owners. The owners loan each outfit with a large pack of information about attractions in the area and include an OS map of the area. There is so much information that it took a while to work through, but definitely a benefit. We visited places we may not have otherwise discovered because there were leaflets in this pack. Ease of access and access to local places is restricted by the narrow lanes and high hedges that appear to be typical of this part of Devon. This is nothing to do with this site, just a local feature. Providing care is taken and the instructions in the site guide are followed then the site is reasonably accessible. The entrance is fairly wide and is tarmac for a certain distance into the site. The lane that runs beside the site can be surprisingly busy for such a narrow lane, but it was never really obtrusive. Despite the very wet and windy weather we had during our stay, we enjoyed the area.
