Pleasant location

Lovely 3 night stay very well kept CL. A bit wary after reading reviews of this site about dog barking but we were not disturbed at all during the night and wouldn’t hesitate in rebooking again. Didn’t spend a lot of time during the day on site as out walking exploring the area, lovely walks from site. The booking online was very good. We stayed on pitch 3 would recommend pitch 2 or 3

Sheringwood Cl Norfolk

25th September 2017, guest from Southend On Sea: "A different way of running a cl to us (all done on line with no personal contact) we had an enjoyable 6 night stay here, great location for walking into Sheringham and would definitely choose pitch 2 again, you get the best view and all hard standing so no mud when packing away."

Not peaceful at all

I was so disappointed with this site ... the pitch was not level and was covered with large gravel which made it hard to walk on and hurt my poor old dogs feet ... the picture shows a huge field, but don't be fooled you are only allowed on a small part at the side of the site. Constant noise from the Mower business next door and from the construction or what ever it was across from the site ... for the price £15 the facilities were basic to say the least ... don't chose pitch 1 as it is next to the bins and the open black and grey water disposal. The un-madeup track into site was one of the worst I have come across and will test your vehicles suspension. I now know why they insist on payment up front and don't greet their guests ... I will not be returning and cannot honestly recommend it other than if you can find no other and are desperate.

No peace

We stopped here for our first and sadly last time. We have nothing against the site or setting. What absolutely spoilt it for us was the sound of constant barking from dogs at what we presumed was a very near by Kennels. Whether we were just unlucky we don't know, but for the time we were on site it spoilt our stay. One night in particular we were still awake at gone 3am due to the incessant barking. For this reason we won't return.

First time in our motorhome and perfect place to start!

Having picked up our motorhome the day before we were nervous about our first trip. Sheringwood was perfect for us, beautiful location, flat site, peaceful and small enough not to make us look silly! Lovely walks / bike ride through to Sheringham (although not easy to find the way, despite the map on site provided!) will definitely hope to return. Stayed three nights beginning of June and loved every minute of it.

Hidden Gem

This site is a hidden gem. It is quiet and surrounded with with superb walking routes. We stayed for 2 nights and walked through Sheringwood into Sheringham which only took 20 minutes max. Doggie walking is paramount for us and having Pretty corner on the doorstep was key. There is a boarding kennels close by but we could only hear the dogs in the morning and that did not bother us. The site is immaculate. This is really a worthwhile stop Tips for other travellers If you are able walk through the woods to Sheringham or into Pretty corner woods where there is a cafe.

Great location, easy booking

Motorhome/caravan booking made easy! Check availability, view photo of pitch and pay on line followed by welcome email from owner - brilliant, why don't other CL's adopt his system - saves harassing busy farmers and waiting for a call back. Its a fairly new site so all pitches are level and hardstanding, the waste facilities are neatly grouped together and there are two shared taps. There is a strong electric supply, TV reception brilliant as is the FREE Wifi. Dogs are welcome, and there is there is a view of the sea and Beston Hump (particularly from pitch1&2) We found no access problems for our 7.5mt motorhome nor any dog noise, there is a fair amount of traffic in and out the neighbouring commercial site. We are from Norfolk on an early season trip to check all ok with motorhome, but it would make a great base for exploring North Norfolk with or without a car. its 35min walk through woods to Sheringham from where you could take mainline or steam trains in either direction or use the Coasthopper buses. All in all a great value site in handy location as long as you don't want contact with site owners.

Christmas Holidays

We decided to spend the Christmas holidays away for the first time this year and chose this site as it was in an area that we knew well and loved. We were really lucky with the weather which enhanced the lovely views from the site and allowed us to do quite a bit of walking. Despite not seeing the owners, they keep the site maintained really well and are on the other end of the phone if needed and respond very quickly to emails as well. Having a really good wifi signal included in the pitch fee of £15pn was great and we only wish more owners would do this. The dogs in the nearby kennels didn't bother us although we used to hear them early morning. In fact the muntjac deer and local fox were in fact noisier but we would rather have animal noises than music noise from some adults. We could hear some road noise in the distance but again not enough to be a nuisance. All in all a cracking little site and one we shall certainly return to.

A nice CL, easy arrival, good pitches but a level of noise

Sheringwood is the first CL we have used in this area; and from staying here for Halloween this is a CL we will now regularly visit. The drive or tow to Sheringwood is easy, which makes this CL accessible to all; we are a 9m-twin TAG motorhome and the entrance was no problem, due to the nice wide drive - although the drive is bumpy (but this is rural Norfolk). Trees and an open field border the CL and it has great feel of the Norfolk countryside. There is plenty of room to maneuver and pitch and the ground is level; plus nicely cut grass dog walk area. The grey water dump and ESLAN point is in a level refuse area. Having two chocolate Labradors, dog walks are key for us and just outside to the right of the CL entrance provides dog walkers with a public path to open fields and woods that the most energetic of hounds can be tired. The TV reception is excellent. If like us you have you own Sat system the tree line does affect you getting the required lock to Astra-2, so do take care where you pitch (avoid pitch 1). Peace and quiet equals’ relaxation and although on occasion you will hear the nearby dog kennel and mower factory next door we felt Sheringwood is the tonic to leave the woes of the week behind. Cromer, Holt (do get a Holt Victoria sponge) and Sheringham near by for great day visits and for those wishing to venture out in the evening there are local pubs; however, as we never tried these –we can’t comment. Either a short stay, or a base to visiting the local area or wider north Norfolk coast I can’t think of a reason why you would not want to base yourself at Sheringwood - great value for money but I would like to see a non-EHU tariff See you soon – Tanya & Mick.

The site was very easily accessed, and the pitch was clean and level, with close cut grass. The walks from the site took you all the way to the coast, though we cycled! The dog kennels did prove to be an issue for us, maybe they just had a noisy dog in!! The owners are approachable and resolve any issue if you bring it to there attention. Overall a lovely setting, but those dogs!!!
