There certainly seem to be widely differing views of this CL. The advance payment by internet was painless with the added attraction (when there is more than one vacancy) of being able to select the preferred pitch from the site plan. It is true that there is no contact with the owners, but for us at least, this would only be a problem in the case of electricity / water failure or similar in which case there is a contact telephone number. There is a certain amount of traffic up and down the rough surfaced lane during working hours, but we heard no lawn mowers and only the occasional dog bark - no worse than being on a farm or near housing perhaps. The site seemed very well maintained with the grass recently cut and the hard standing (at least on our pitch) completely level. There is a convenience store / newsagents a few minutes away by bike (going) - longer coming back uphill! Sherringham, Sherringham Park (NT) and Cromer are easily reachable by bike; even easier by car. A thoroughly enjoyable three night stay.

You Will be lucky if site owners come and see u. No signage on bins no dog waste bin. Noise from 815 in morning people turning up for work. DOG kennels is a big problem . Sea view not much of one . You have to find out for your self about area as no information. As you pay up front you have no choice other than stay . We had 15 days came home on 14 .

Lovely site to visit, we will certainly go back

Upon arrival we found our pitch easily and set up. We loved the site and had a nice walk from there round the lanes towards the coast. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go the whole way! We only had one little complaint and that was that the dogs barking from the nearby kennels woke my husband a few times. We had four nights at the site and travelled into Cromer and Sheringham from there. I can definitely recommend The Corner House in West Runton for afternoon tea. Well run and delightful café, lovely food. Also the village Inn in West Runton for evening meals. We will be back as we loved it. Oh and the WiFi is very good, but we didn't get a very good TV signal. Definitely worth a visit :)

Beware, read their terms and conditions

We booked this site and paid a deposit by paypal.   A month before we were due to arrive at this site, we received an email saying the balance was due. In the end, for various reasons, we decided not to go so we didn't pay the balance.  We asked about a refund of the deposit but that was refused. You can't speak to anyone on the 'phone, they only deal with you by email.  I'm not impressed at all by their attitude.   Not even the Club Sites ask for money up front like this and at least you can speak to someone on the 'phone.

good site

Spent 3 nights on this site. Not a bad site at all, I agree there is noise from the lawn mower place next door but we knew that when we booked. Only heard dogs bark once or twice. Would be nice to have a map when going through the woods into town. Pleasant views. Best fish and chips at The Trawler in Sheringham, top place ever. Avoid No1 in Cromer, chips were dry and lukewarm and supposedly owned by Galton Blakiston.

EASTER 2016

Just returned from a week on this site, access to site is a short distance down an unmade road  is fine at low speed, take care when turning into the site as the entrance is shared with the business next door. All pitches are hard standing but only 1 & 2 can take an awning without going onto grass, levelling blocks needed on 1 & 2. Site facilities are good with ample power supply, good free Wi-fi and two taps also a purpose built service/bin area. Small solar LED night lights on the surrounding fence no longer work. The site overlooks some parkland with some access restriction signs, presumably the adjacent area of it could be used to sit out on warmer days. There is a distant sea view on clear days,  Sheringham & Cromer and all they offer are only a short drive away. Previous reviews mention barking from nearby kennels which although audible is not too loud when we were on site (the kennels hold a licence to house about 50 dogs) the barking sometimes doesn't stop at night. The site is owned by the same person who owns Anglian Mowers next door, during business hours there is some sporadic noise of mowers with occasional comings and goings, so if you are particularly noise sensitive this site is not for you and certainly don't book Pitch 1 which is right next to the dividing conifer hedge. We did not encounter the owner, so again if personal contact is important to you don't come! The no contact approach does have it's downside particularly if something goes wrong, for instance the Wi-fi went down on our last day. We found the online booking & payment convenient and we were able to alter our arrival date due to a family party by emailing in advance. On the whole we would consider using the site again as we love the area and hard standings are ideal early in the season but it's worth pointing out other CL's nearby offer toilets and showers for a few extra pounds.

Not so bad...

We stayed here during the second week of November 2015. We had planned to go to Cumbria but due to the poor weather forecast we went in the opposite direction and stayed at Sheringwood for 4 nights. We hadnt viewed the reviews as it was a last minute booking, so after reading the first few reviews whilst we were there we wondered what we had put ourselves in for. I agree the non contact is strange and not what we are use to when staying on CL's. The pitches are well looked after and so are the waste disposal area. There are ample walks in the area and from the site itself. We always take an OS map with us where we go as we like walking, so we knew where the footpaths were. The free WIFI is good, not many sites you get it for free (Considering I had just paid £2.50 for 24 hrs at Sandringham Caravan Club site the previous night). We didnt have any disturbance from the Kennels, it is unfortunate for users if there are noisey dogs staying there when you are. So this could be a different picture at any other time. Overall a good stay.

False claims on website

We stayed here in October 2015 and agree with all the comments of the previous reviewers. But there is more !! First the approach road is one of the bumpiest I've ever taken the caravan over. The noise from the Lawnmower workshop is very annoying, given the claims of year round tranquillity on the website. The only separation of CL and car park is a high leylandii hedge, which is not sound proofed ! Therefore, if you like parking in a factory car park, you'll like it. We were on pitch 1, where the website claims sea views and water tap. the sea can be glimpsed between two huge trees about 400 metres away, but no way is it a VIEW !!!! And there is no water tap on the pitch. Putting up an awning is an endeavour best left to the young and strong. Underneath the nice, clean gravel, there seems to be an impenetrable layer of reinforced concrete. Only use the strongest pegs you can find. I bent 6 of mine !! The bin/waste area is good, but there is no lighting, so make sure all the chores are done before dusk. The "No contact" policy is also disconcerting. We don't like owners to be "in your face", but this is the other extreme. It seems as if they've made the investment in the CL and now are just sitting back and let the money roll in, with minimal effort on their part. On the positive side, the electric hookup is substantial and the WiFi good (4Mb/s on a good day). And the view across the field is lovely with Woodpeckers and Heron in abundance. We had a nice holiday in the area, but would try a different CL next time. I'm sure you can get better value for your £15 !!!!!

Mixed feelings

We visited this site last year - Easter and August and had a good stay. I agree with others that the booking, lack of human interaction is odd but site facilities (wifi, hard standing etc) compensate well. On previous visits we had no noise in the night but this time, on both nights we were kept awake all night by dogs howling!! Dog kennels are nearby and maybe we were just unlucky as I say there was nothing like it previously. Sadly due to two sleepless nights we won't be returning.

needs a little more thought

Booking on line is the easiest thing about this site ..Totally agree with what most people are saying . The lawn mower business adjacent to the site is noisy from early hours, the dawn chorus from the dogs across the way woke us as did the crow scarer's that seemed to be under our MH and made us jump from 5 am both days we were there..security is NIL (no gate or barriers) and the site says it's a mile away from the coast, this maybe the case if you are a crow..Some sort of map would be helpful as I am disabled and the walk through the woods was interesting and down the other side of the site (Britons Lane) was down right scary as for the best part of it there is NO path,.Thought it was strange and very impersonal not to have any human contact at all.. generally we think £15 a night was a bit excessive as the only things on site are wifi, water and EHU..Also the bins hadn't been emptied in the 3 days 2 nights we were there and they were full to the top on our arrival,,Other than that the pitch we had was apparently the best which was pitch 3.The people we met there were friendly and all saying basically the same things..hopefully some of these teething troubles will be sorted although you can't change the fact it is next to a lawn mower factory/workshop or a dog kennels ...
