A repeat visit to this site in order to visit children who live in London.
The wardens are very friendly.
The showers are lovely and clean, plenty of hot water, and and laid out well, although tad dated.
Easy to get into London, even with the part closure of the Elizabeth line last weekend from Abbey Wood.
Will return again when another visit to London is required.
We would like to thank Paul, Karen and all the team for their kindness and understanding when we had family issues and needed to stay longer to be near our daughter. We really appreciated how they looked after us which made all the difference. We really enjoyed our stay on this friendly, beautiful, green site in the middle of London with so much sightseeing close by and easy to reach on the Elizabeth line and river taxis.
I am writing this review as I have not had a response to the live robot chat, this site is in a great location to central london, staff were really helpful and pleasant but the pitch we were allocated ‘pitch 59’ should never be pitch, it is directly next to the vehicle exit barrier meaning we spent most of the morning whilst eating breakfast being Interrupted by cars and motorhomes sat at the barrier trying to figure out how to exit, leaving engines running on our pitch and people walking over our pitch to access the foot access around the barrier, whilst I appreciate that this is a prime location there is such a difference on location of pitch at the same price point. Paying £50 approx per night on this pitch is not reasonable.
Nice site, great central location. I got the feeling most folk headed into London for their outings, but there are miles of fab walks in the Woods (go across the road towards the abbey - the woodland immediately behind the site is overgrown and I didn't feel particularly safe) including a sculpture trail. If it helps (as they are poorly signposted), here are some links for routes I created

I have visited this site many, many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed with either the site cleanliness, beautifully maintained gardens or helpful friendly staff. It is the most accessible of camp sites for visiting London, Greenwich, Canary Wharf shopping at Lakeside and visiting the wonderful county of Kent. Very recently I had a one night booking as I was en-route to a venue in Great Gaddesden but spent an evening in London Bridge with one of my sons. (Abbey Wood to London Bridge direct train👍). On the walk back to the club site I had a fall and spent the evening in hospital in Woolwich. I returned the following morning to Abbey wood knowing that I needed to remove my unit before 11am as the site was fully booked . As soon as I arrived Karen and Paul were amazing and very concerned about the bruise that was forming on my face. The provided a chair tea and biscuits and helped me move my unit off the pitch to a safe area opening up a secure gate to do so. They also allowed me to rest up before driving again. Both my son and I were overwhelmed by their kindness and support after a tiring and traumatic night and would like to say a BIG thank you to both of them. A brilliant site, made even better by such caring and considerate staff. Well done Karen and Paul, I shall see you again soon xx
We were recommended by several people to visit this site, and an upcoming show provided the ideal opportunity.
We were not disappointed, with a very friendly welcome from the staff who explained everything we needed to know.
We stayed two days, the first to see the show and with the Elizabeth line just over 5 mins down the hill it was a very quick journey into the city.
The second day we cycled down to the river and up to Greenwich, taking in several landmarks on the way. Getting to the river was a bit tricky, with some difficult gates to negotiate on one section of what is classed as a cycle track? But once on the river track it's easy cycling all the way.
The only thing that surprised us was that the showers seemed to be adding a bit. The panel on at least one shower cubicle was rotten and the pipes and valves on some had been cleaned so much the chrome was now missing! The club need to look at this for what is considered to be a flagship site on the capital.
But all in all, this place is well looked after and very clean. We were very pleased with our stay and will probably visit again.
We booked a stay on here as my son in law was running the marathon. Perfectly placed to get the DLR to Greenwich for the starting area, or the Elizabeth Line into central London.
Toilet block and showers warm and clean, wardens very friendly and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time on the site as we were out and about until eatly evening, but would definitely use again for visiting the city.
We stayed here the weekend of the marathon when central London hotels were all booked out. We were here for a wedding Greenwich. The staff were most helpful with a prompt checkin helping us by locating a pitch close to the entrance and speeding us through the system. The clear instructions on locating the station meant we were on time for my nephews wedding at 2 pm. A fast turnaround!
Thank you so much for your welcome and good wishes.
We are very grateful and would love to return for a more leisurely visit.
