Best site we have visited

Stayed 3 nights Aug '15-Motorhome. We have experienced 31 Club sites and this is probably the best. Impressive large site with good facilities for children. The Showers Block is certainly the best visited Anywhere - a true credit to the Club. There is some road noise from the 2 A roads nearby, but not a problem. The nearby Canal provides lovely walks or cycles both to Brecon town or longer but much more enjoyable towards Talybont. The Star pub at Talybont is well worth a visit (an olde traditional small pub). Walks to the south into the Beacons gives you the wilder Brecons experience. We would strongly recommend this site to families & adventurous adults who enjoy the outdoor life.

Excellent

This was our 3rd time on site and we love it. Wardens so helpful and pleasant Ideal location for walking into Brecon also good bus and taxi services. Site so clean and showers etc brilliant. Only downside was the lack of tv ariel points like on some other sites but we had so much to do didn't really miss not having tv this time.

Great site great location

Lovely friendly owners and a very well groomed site with immaculate facilities. The 'dog walk' was very clean and leads to a lovely little stream and adventure playground. Just a 10 minute drive and we were in the hills, We only had 3 nights there so climbed Pen y Fan, visited the waterfall walks and realised we could have happily spent a couple of weeks finding our way around the area. Brecon is a good little town with enough shops, good pizza at 'proper pizzas' and not overly busy. We will be back next year or maybe even later this year if we get the chance.

Brecon Jazz

We previously visited this site 2yrs ago and liked the location.  Visited again this year to attend the Jazz Festival in Brecon. Stayed Thursday - Monday. Was very impressed with the site upgrade. New amenities block, pitch lay out, all brilliant. Although the site was full over the weekend there wasn't any waiting in the morning for showers. The entry to the site is large in comparison to other sites I have used. There is easy access to Brecon along the canal tow path, once you've crossed 2 busy roads.  Plan to return next year for the festival.

A lovely site in a great location

This is a lovely site now that the club have refurbished it. We went for 4 nights for the BreconJazz Festival. It is a lovely walk along the canal into Brecon. There is a very well stocked shop on site and an excellent play area for the kids.

Review of Brecon Beacons

What a fantastic site from the firts welcome when you enter the site to the miniute you leave. First class facilaties and stuards. You know they have pride in their work and site when the warden was replenishing the toilet rolls at 9.30pm. The shower / toilet block was spotless every time we have been there. The stuatds are a credit to themselves and the club. well done all.

Beacons Caravan Club

My wife and I are frequent visitors to the Beacons Club site. It's location within the Brecon Beacons National Park is superb. For those who engage in more strenuous activities you are minutes away from access to hill walking the higher peaks. Brecon Town centre is very short drive away or if you prefer you can walk along the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal tow path which takes you a leisurely flat twenty minutes walk into town. The facilities on site are first class the site having benefited from a refurbishment within the last two years. There is a superb play area for children and a first class dog walk. A down side is the traffic noise from the A40 and A470 roads which pass either side of the site. In our opinion this is minimal and does not affect our enjoyment. As a  middle aged couple we prefer to use the site when children are in school, however, we have just returned from a five night stay in the main school holidays and whilst there were a number of children riding bikes around the site, they were in general well behaved. What did concern us was the number of infant children riding bikes without supervision. They seemed to have no regard for the fact that there was traffic moving around the site all be it at very low speed. Where were the parents / grand-parents or responsible adults? These comments are not made from a genuine concern for the safety of these infants who cannot control the cycles to a proficient standard and could fall into the path of a vehicle. To sum up,we think the Brecon Beacons Club site is superb and we will continue to visit regularly.

Impressive Site

We chose to stay here for an extended weekend break at the end of July beginning of August that, unbeknown to us, coincided with the Brecon Show. Despite the location being very close to a busy road, our pitch actually backed onto it, and nearby roundabout the site was surprisingly quiet. We had a serviced pitch, which we haven't used for ages and enjoyed the laziness of not fetching freshwater and emptying grey water. The site is very well laid out and spacious and has two great shower blocks and the best shop on a site I have ever visited. The wardens were friendly and very helpful with lots of good recommendations. Although we did not have our young grandkids with us we would very much like to return because the play area looked very good indeed. The dog walk, (not to be confused with the smaller dog area cul-de-sac, was brilliant for our Daisy. I have to say though why any dog owner would opt not to pick up their dog's mess from the middle of the dog walk pathway when there are so many bins is totally beyond me! We had friends from Cardiff come to visit, they were staying at a hotel nearby, and we walked to the Brecon show along the canal from the site. It was wonderful. Not too over the top but very down to earth and really friendly atmosphere. We also drove to the Garwnant visitor centre and went walking in the forest. We would highly recommend it and on Sundays you can get a lovely roast dinner at the cafe there. The town centre is very accessible on foot and there are some lovely small shops and you have a choice of Aldi or Morrisons for your major provisions. We had a meal at the Bar Kitchen on the left hand side as you enter Brecon. Staff were lovely, food was good but service a bit slow so don't go if you are in a hurry! It was dog friendly too with bowls of water and treats readily available. We really enjoyed our very relaxing stay and loved meeting lots of lovely friendly people and fellow dog owners. We want to return and would love to do the Jazz festival at some point.
