Quiet midweek break!

We were greeted on arrival by very pleasant Wardens & chose our own pitch. We booked in for a quiet midweek break & certainly got it! Just the sound of owls calling at night & the wind in the trees. This was our first revisit after several years lapse & it was a pleasant surprise. The site had been improved considerably & the Toilet blocks refurbished to a very high standard. (They were all spotless & lovely & warm too!) Visitors in winter may want to take a torch.

First time at Carsington

This was a last minute decision to come here & we weren't disappointed. The pitches were set among trees & we were able to choose our own pitch. The week we were there was very quiet but it started to fill up as we were leaving. The amenities were spacious, spotless & warm. The wardens were friendly & helpful. The site is ideal for walkers & cyclists & the pub nearby served excellent food. The site had a small shop selling the essentials & there was a shop & garage in the village just a couple of minutes away by car. We will certainly return to this site the next time we stay in the area

Lovely spot

We stayed only two nights but we were greeted with a warm welcome and found a lovely pitch. Facilities were spotless every day and the kids park kept our children entertained for hours! Only slight disappointment was no TV Arial. We will definitely be back!

Stayed several times, one of our favourites

Lovely site in pine woods, with great play areas for kids and a stones throw from Carsington for great walks or bike rides round the lake.  Nice pub at other end of the lake (the Knockerdown).  A favourite spot in our house, staff always helpful and pitches are lovely.

Yet another great CC site

Spent 4 nights here and loved it. Large plots meant no feeling of being crowded in. Toilet block was immaculately clean and warm. Lots of great walking trails around and we only wish we'd taken bikes cos it seemed there were great cycle trails too. Worth a walk to the Carsington Water Visitor Centre. We'll definitely return.

Weekend Stay

We recently stayed fri to sun and was very impressed with the location, cleaniness of facilities and size of park. Lots of walks nearby and we thoroughly enjoyed the 8.5 mile walk around the perimeter of Carsington waters. would definately recommend this site for families and dog owners. Will book again but for a longer stay next yearxx

Another great weekend had

We stayed at Carsington Water 02/03/04 Oct, it was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The site was immaculate and the wardens were fab - with a nothing too much approach. The site is great for kiddies and indeed the walk round the lake stunning with the autumn colours. Great for walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and loads of space and freedom for everyone. Oh and for the ladies shopping is also fab in Ashbourne..so says the wife. All in all highly recommended.

First caravanning experience

This was our very first caravanning experience and we were quite nervous and worried about the whole process of hitching and pitching. On arrival we were welcomed and clearly shown the choices of pitches available. The staff offered their help and very kindly said we could contact them at anytime if we experienced any problems.  The site itself is amongst huge pine trees,a fabulous dog walk and spotless facilities.  Apart from some television signal problems we had a positive experience and look forward to visiting this beautiful site again.
