Great location for trip to Edinburgh

Stayed a couple of nights as part of a week in Scotland. Site was what you would expect from caravan club site, i.e. great. No complaints. One edge is close to a road that has some traffic but not too much to stop us sleep and we were parked right next to it. Planes go overhead from time to time but, as others have noted, not an issue. Bus stop to city centre a short walk away, and a short ride on a very regular bus. Also options for minibus if you don't fancy the short walk. Would go recommend to anyone.

Great for visiting Edinburgh

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Edinburgh and the Mackintosh trail in Glasgow. Good location short walk from the coast. Unfortunately there were not enough electrical hookups and our cables would not reach. Staff not helpful in shop and had to drive to Inverness to but another cable. Toilet block fine but was closed all day on our last day. Hence we left early.

Comment from The Club

Many thanks for your review and we are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your stay.  The wardens work very hard to ensure that you have the best possible time whilst staying on site.  The wardens have been in touch and confirm that the toilet blocks are closed for cleaning each day however, the cleaning times are staggered so that a toilet block always remains open for use. A sign is on the door clearly displaying the cleaning times and the wardens confirm that neither of the toilet blocks have been closed all day.   Regarding hook up cables these can be purchased through the office and many apologies if there was any misunderstanding.  A drive to Inverness is a 3 hour drive north one way and there are many places nearer that would of sold a suitable cable.  We wonder if this review has perhaps been left in the wrong place?  Thank you for taking the time to leave a review

Perfect for Edinburgh Visits

This is a lovely, clean & tidy site with friendly wardens.  Nice dog walking area on & off site.  Morrisons nearby.  Bus service to get in & explore everything that Edinburgh has to offer.  Airport noise doesn't personally effect us, didn't notice it.  Will definitely use again.

Recent stay

We arrived on the17th July for 3 nights our last stop in Scotland. The site is very busy and at times can be nosiey with the coming and going on site. The toilets and showers where clean we noticed from previous comments that the wardens where never on time on cleaning times but to be fair to them at times the shower block was not left clean and it tookextra time to clean them regarding the aircraft noise that did not bother us to much. Plenty walks for everybody on the promanada good local bus service nearby. Morrisons and Tescos nearby

.....into Scotland

Edinburgh CC site was our first stop in Scotland and it didn't disappoint. Brought back memories as we had stayed at the site many years ago. Excellent facilities and good transport into City. If you want to see another side of Edinburgh walk along the nearby promenade and chat to the locals. If there was a downside it was the aeroplane noise from the airport but that's being very picky. Superbly kept site with very helpful wardens. Nearby Morrisons supermarket deserves mention as the staff at door was so helpful in showing us where to park our motorhome - oh for that consideration south of the border!

Great site

Well, that's our second visit to this site (actually my third, the first time was 1964!), and again we had a very enjoyable stay.  Site is well kept, great views of the planes on approach to the airport, great walks along the waterfront.  We did notice however that our dogs' dry food was being nicked from the awning - after the magpie started barking in the early hours we knew who was the culprit!  Wardens very friendly, site very tidy, no negatives whatsoever. Thanks CC.

Excellent staff

What a great convenient site, me & my wife had 3 nights there in may on a service pitch and had a lovely time, apart from the night before we was due to leave i took ill, i want to point out that the staff was outstanding, they organised a taxi to take me to hospital & even offered to come along with us, i would especially like to thank Muriel who came to our needs that night & reassured my wife not to worry as we could leave the van their as long as we needed to, fortunately i was given medication & let out 12 hrs later & left on time to continue our holiday, thanks again to the staff for your help & i shall return to thank you in person.

So pleased we booked

Whilst visiting Scotland we found ourselves on a CL site that was lovely but not suitable for some in our party. I got on the CC website and found this site and booked us in immediately, glad we did because the site soon filled up. It was fantastic, lots of local walks, easy to get into the city and plenty of opportunities for "people watching". The facilities were excellent, the wardens friendly and helpful - we shall return. Yes the planes do go overhead but we made a game of trying to guess which airline they belonged to and after a while we didn't even notice them. Wifi was good so a lovely time was had by all.

Best site for Edinburgh...BUT

Stayed in our MH for 2 nights in June'15 - a nice site mostly up to the usual CC standard with some BUT's I was surprised to see lots of weeds over the pitch areas and very clearly more than have generated since the winter - so it must be many years since they have done anything here.  And other areas around the site (particularly near the tent area) had a lot of weeds as well. Be warned, the planes going into Edinburgh airport are seen every few minutes and heard - they did not worry us, but may be of concern to some. There is a bus stop very close to the entrance and this goes into the City - but we wanted to get to the zoo which would have taken over an hour so we went by MH. Having said the above, we will use the site again as it is the best positioned site for doing many things in or around Edinburgh and I would hope that the maintenance side improves.
