Stayed for 5 nights, extended from 3 nights as we were having such a great time!
Pitches are a great size, the staff were all so helpful and the toilets blocks were spotless.
The minibus from the site into and back from Edinburgh was a great bonus, the driver was ace! We also took the mainline bus into the city one day which was about a 15 minute walk from the site.
Can’t wait to return!
Cheery welcome
Spent 2 days at this site on our quick tour of Scotland..Reception was very pleasant and the young couple on duty very cheerful and friendly.
The site itself was clean and tidy as were the facilities.Staff working very hard to keep site tidy.
Worth mentioning though is the need perhaps for 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in both toilet blocks as there was a queue for the 1 lot in use whilst I was using it.
Handy site if you need to visit the city with a bus stop within 10 min walk. Beautiful walk to Crammond and environs.

Excellent site for Edinburgh
We had 3 nights here in our motorhome. The welcome was excellent. The pitches are large and spacious and the toilets and showers, although a little dated were clean and functional.
Small dog area, wouldn’t describe it as a walk! But it’s a short walk out of the site for some green space.
Generally the site was quite quiet but there are regular flights going overhead so a bit of noise from them but we didn’t find it a problem and the flights stop overnight.
It’s a 10 minute walk to the bus stop for either Edinburgh (27) or the Royal Yacht (16). Flat fare of £1.85 each way. Bargain!
Enjoyed our stay and would use the site again.
Didn’t know what to expect after reading some reviews
This stay was our last in our first tour of Scotland and having read some of the reviews ahead of arrival we arrived with a little trepidation. Our fears were unfounded, we were welcomed and given lots of information, there were plenty of pitches to choose from, all very well spaced and with lots of lovely shrubs and tress for privacy. The toilet blocks are standard for The club but the showers are so powerful and warm and no timer - wonderful. Although the public transport is excellent and cheap, the convenience of the mini bus service into the city was an added bonus. Yes, there is a little noise from aircraft but living in. Manchester that didn’t bother us. Lovely walk down to the promenade which is a great place for families. Would we come again..... absolutely.
A well kept site in an ideal location.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were very clean although a little dated shower blocks.
A five minute walk across the road and you were on the beach/boardwalk which was great for the dog and/or cycling.
The site minibus was very useful into the town and the driver was a real character and very friendly.
We will use this site again for our next visit to the fringe festival.

Edinburgh weekends
We first used this site in January this year, as part of our family live in Edinburgh.
We’ve now visited twice with a third, so far in the summer.
It’s handy for visiting them and events we have in the city, (check out Crammond cars & coaches for transport into the city)
It also provides us with a quiet getaway too, with a walk to the promenade and park on the coast nearby.
Friendly Wardens, well spaced pitches, clean and tidy facilities and site.
What more could we want?

Great location for Edinburgh and relaxing.
Well kept site with friendly staff. We took public transport into Edinburgh just £1.80 each way or £4.50 day saver ticket. Also direct bus to Royal Yacht Brittania and Leith. It's a short walk to catch the bus which are quite regular. As we were late one evening (2100hrs) we caught an UBER from the far side of the town centre for just £15. Lots of cycle paths and lovely promenade just a short stroll away. A little noisy on the pitches next to the road. Great value at around £25 at this time of year.
Site maintenance or lack off it 👨💻
I have just left this site and it is great as always but new wardens probably through no fault of theirs are wandering about power washing paths and blowing stones with a leaf blower in the section of the site that’s is currently closed and all the time the grass is screaming out to get cut and weeds are beginning to grow and the hedges are starting to grow ! They obviously need help from someone who has previously done some sort of landscaping 🙏🙏
Nice site for visiting Edinburgh
This campsite is kept clean and tidy and has friendly helpful staff. The children's play area is nice and my daughter loved playing on there with the friends she made on the site.
The location isn’t great for getting into Edinburgh especially with children as the bus stop is quite a walk away however there is a brilliant minibus that runs from the site every day that gets you into Edinburgh really quickly.
I enjoyed our stay and would come back to this site but only because of the minibus service which makes it so easy to get into the city and back each day.
Our ‘regular’ Edinburgh campsite
We come to Edinburgh regularly and love this site because it is easy to get into the city by bus, close to several cycling routes and has lovely walks along the front. I do take the point that at night Marine Drive is rather dark and lonely but in the daytime it’s fine and, if we needed to come back late, it’s not too far to get a taxi. The walk/cycle to Cramond and the River Almond Walkway is lovely and on this trip we were able to catch the right tides to go across the causeway to Cramond Island, which was a real treat. And the site itself is fabulous, with excellent facilities, level, spacious pitches and warm and friendly staff. Lockable bike storage is another bonus we appreciated. We have stayed in two other Edinburgh campsites and have enjoyed all three but none of them are perfect and, for us, this is the one we will keep coming back to.
